‘RHOBH’ Star Bozoma Saint John Lost Malibu House in Palisades Fire: “I Felt So Helpless”

As a gamer putting myself in the shoes of Bozoma Saint John, I’d say: “This week, I found myself sharing a heartbreaking truth with the world – my beloved Malibu home was consumed by the Palisades Fire, a devastating reminder of nature’s raw power.

During an interview on ‘Watch What Happens Live’, Saint John shared that she discovered her house had burned down on platform X (previously known as Twitter). “I was in Zambia when I saw my house on Twitter, and that’s how I found out it was destroyed,” she stated. “It was heartbreaking, and I felt utterly powerless. There was nothing I could do. You can’t dispatch someone to retrieve anything, so I rushed back as soon as I could.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member expressed that the recent tragedy has led her to deep contemplation. “It’s a challenging period as there are so many individuals who have lost everything, and it leaves me pondering about our capacity for resilience and how one can persevere amidst hardships like these,” she stated. “I’m doing my utmost to cope.

Additionally, Saint John possesses a property in Los Angeles’ Hancock Park area, yet she often mentioned that her Malibu residence was a place frequently visited by family members and friends. “The house had a keypad instead of a keyhole,” she explained, “so anyone could enter a code and gain access whenever they desired.” Currently, she is experiencing profound sorrow.

The ex-business executive provided an update on her teenage daughter’s handling of the grief. “She’s managing okay,” she shared. “She’s making an effort. Some of her friends have also lost their homes, so there’s a sense of unity in that as well.

Saint John began appearing on RHOBH last May following an illustrious career in marketing that saw her reach the executive suites at Netflix, Endeavor, Pepsi, Beats, Apple, and Uber. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in December, she expressed that the drama of reality TV isn’t entirely unfamiliar to her. “If people could peek inside boardrooms, they’d be astounded by the behavior – the things said, the sharpness with which people speak to each other, and the divisiveness and politics,” she stated. “I’m not surprised by the drama, but I am intrigued by it. The difficulty lies in understanding the full story, as I don’t simply listen to one side and believe it blindly. I’m observing carefully.
