As a die-hard Marvel Rivals fan, I can’t contain my excitement for Season 1! While the Fantastic Four take center stage, we all know there are more characters in store over the next twelve months. Rumors swirl that Ultron, Blade, MODOK, and others might make their debut. Here’s hoping these leaks prove true!
It’s well known among fans that more X-Men characters are on their way, but a recent leak hints at additional members from Professor X’s team of extraordinary youths, potentially filling out the cherished lineup from the ’90s animated series, X-Men.
More X-Men Coming to Marvel Rivals
According to a recent disclosure by @X0X_LEAK, there’s some exciting news for gaming enthusiasts – it seems that beloved characters Gambit, Rogue, and Jubilee are set to join the game. Check out the announcement here:
A trustworthy source has verified that both characters, Beast and Nightcrawler, are set to feature in the game. While it’s been established that Nightcrawler will serve as a Duelist, the role of Beast within the game remains undetermined; he may potentially function as a movable tank, similar to Winston from Overwatch.
There’s no set schedule yet for when these characters will be available, but NetEase intends to introduce a fresh hero approximately every 1.5 months. Given the upcoming hero releases, it’s possible that fans might need to wait until next year before they can start playing any of the leaked characters.
X-Men in Marvel Rivals
Currently, the game boasts a strong lineup of X-Men characters you can play as, but not all are leading figures in the series. For instance, Storm and Wolverine are well-known, yet there are lesser-known ones such as Magik and Psylocke. As for Magneto, his role as an X-Man is somewhat complex, while Namor is primarily associated with the team due to being a mutant.
Based on past leaks, it’s been verified that additional X-Men are joining the team, such as Emma Frost, Cyclops, Jean Grey, Colossus, and Professor X. If you choose to consider Deadpool as an X-Man, he too has been confirmed as a new recruit.
As a dedicated gamer, if all the leaked heroes make their way into Marvel Rivals, it would be an incredible achievement to have assembled the main X-Men ’97 base roster. However, even with that accomplishment, there’s still a wealth of characters to explore – Magneto’s Brotherhood and other formidable X-villains such as Callisto, Apocalypse, Mister Sinister, and the advanced sentinel Bastion, are all potential additions to the game.
When Will These Come Out
Given NetEase’s release schedule and the abundance of well-known mutants in the X-Men universe, it might take them a full year or even longer to introduce new characters, as it hinges on the stories they choose to tell for each season. The choice of narratives is crucial for every installment.
In the first season, it seems as though the Fantastic Four were forced into the storyline. It’s plausible that they initially intended to introduce Blade when Dracula was the primary antagonist, but instead opted to present the Four to generate excitement for the upcoming “Fantastic Four” movie, which is set to hit theaters in July.
For fans eagerly anticipating, the X-Men team has charted out an entire season ahead, and a map is set to whisk players right into the X-Mansion. All we can do now is stay tuned for the grand unveiling by NetEase when they’re ready to share the details.
It’s now possible to play the game “Marvel Rivals” on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. As of now, there’s no set date for the introduction of any new mutant characters.
