For about a month now, the Nike SB’s poppy field-inspired SB Dunk Low, a collaboration with “The Wizard of Oz”, has been available for purchase. These sneakers feature removable layers revealing a red ruby base, but what’s interesting is that an entire colorway inspired by Dorothy’s famous ruby slippers was also created. Although it doesn’t resemble the actual pair sold at auction for $28 million USD last year, this pair is expected to command a high price on the secondary market.
David Toole, from Bluetile Skateboards located in South Carolina, was the one who initially disclosed the unique discovery following a customer opening what they presumed to be the recent release of The Wizard of Oz x Nike SB Dunk Low shoes. His thrilling unboxing video showcases an unprecedented “Ruby Slippers” colorway, encrusted with red-orange sequins, hidden within the regular packaging. The complete pair’s design echoes Dorothy’s attire, as it boasts a blue lining on its all-red exterior. Additionally, exclusive insoles were crafted to complement this extraordinary find.
If you’re keen to obtain the elusive Nike SB Dunk Low “Ruby Slippers” inspired by “The Wizard of Oz,” it seems some skate stores are still holding back a few pairs from their inventory. These sneakers might be concealed within the packaging’s mystery bag, so keep searching and happy hunting!
