26 years ago, I was part of the powerhouse collaboration between Sanjay Dutt and Mahesh Manjrekar in the gangster drama “Vaastav: The Reality” back in 1999. This film became a celebrated success story, and over time, my character Raghu has gained an iconic status among cinema enthusiasts. Today, Vaastav is recognized as the original gangster movie of Indian Cinema. Now, I’m thrilled to announce that I will once again join forces with Mahesh Manjrekar for the sequel of Vaastav.
Based on information from individuals involved in the project, filmmaker Mahesh Manjrekar has come up with an concept that could potentially serve as a sequel to the movie “Vaastav”. This isn’t a straight continuation of the story but rather a franchise film set within the universe of “Vaastav”. Mahesh Manjrekar has shared this idea with actor Sanjay Dutt, who is reportedly eager and enthusiastic about reprising his role as Raghu. At present, Mahesh is working on turning the concept into a full-fledged screenplay, and Sanjay Dutt is eagerly awaiting further details about the project.
