Wow, Guess what? It’s still me, though the year has changed. This weekend is Community Day Classic in Pokemon Go, which means I’ll be venturing out for some gaming fun, hoping to grab more shinies and spend time with friends. After a game-filled week at Pocket Gamer Connects London, my screen time has been a bit excessive. So, it’s time for a breather – catching up on work and unwinding will be my priority.

Instead of regretting the random card draws in my Pokemon TCG Pocket game, which has kept me from completing the Genetic Apex deck even as we move into 2025, I’ll be spending this weekend engrossed in Palmon: Survival. It appears that my craving for capturing wild creatures and expanding my collection is far from satisfied. Since my article on the new game from Lilith Games, titled “Ahead of the Game,” I must confess that I have become quite fond of my virtual Pokemon… or should I say Palmons?

Although I don’t claim expertise in this area, I’ll need Will’s beginner’s guide to identify my mistakes. For now, I’ll enjoy riding my magical horse and watching my Palmn workers toil in my camp as I accumulate an excessive amount of riches – quite a promising start to the new year!

This year has been brimming with gaming adventures, and there are more exciting prospects ahead. Among the games I’m planning to explore are Palmon: Survival, where survival isn’t necessary, and Balatro, which provides a respite from real-life poker. I’m also eagerly anticipating the next steps. A game that has piqued my interest (thanks to Cat) is Dark And Darker for mobile devices. Although I’ve voiced concerns about its stability, I found it enjoyable and can’t wait to see how it evolves.

I’m taking a closer look at the game list shared in the podcast. A few of them are familiar from past episodes, but many are brand new to me. I plan to explore these games, with a particular interest in Super Farming Boy and LOK Digital for no other reason than personal preference.

After a lengthy hiatus post-holidays, my New Year isn’t primarily centered around the “new,” instead, I’ve found myself immersed in Outside Xbox videos which led me to invest in Hitman 3 from IO Interactive. The game is enchanting, and I find it hard to tear myself away. Consequently, I anticipate spending a considerable amount of this weekend engrossed in it.

Following the release of Wuthering Wave’s latest update, Roccia has joined the second phase. This character addition has left me with a dilemma due to my current overabundance of choices. Roccia seems like an excellent Sub DPS for Rover (Havoc), but I have already optimized Danjin for that role. Allocating Astrite resources here means less for Shorekeeper, making my decisions more challenging.

This week kicked off with Pocket Gamer Connects London, and my upcoming weekend will include trying out Wordpix, which I learned about at the event. Essentially, it’s like a mix between ‘image prompts’ and ‘Arrowords with friends’. Players are given five letters to place in a grid to earn points. It’s currently in soft launch in the UK, and I’ve been playing it quite a bit since I saw it at the event.

In other updates, I have completed my Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket set, containing every essential card from each deck. As a result, I won’t be putting much effort into it for now. Nonetheless, I can’t wait to learn more about the upcoming Time & Space packs due next week!

Apart from my mobile games, I’ve been immersed in Dynasty Warriors Origins, a game that I find quite enjoyable, despite its apparent influence from 90s RPG classics rather than venturing into newer territories. It’s refreshing to see the Warriors series making a comeback after its seven-year break.

As we’ve moved into the year 2025, I find myself older, though I may not be as wise as I’d like, given my occasional inexperience when it comes to taking care of my physical self. However, these experiences have highlighted certain aspects that need improvement. My holidays were particularly challenging due to some health issues, which has prompted me to focus on fitness and adopting healthier habits suitable for a gamer.

I intend to devote a good chunk of my day (around 2-3 hours) to exercising and stretching, as well as immersing myself in gaming. Specifically, I can’t wait to delve further into Go Go Muffin, and attempt to finish all the available events within Cookie Run: Kingdom. I’m especially eager to experiment with various team setups to conquer the Boss Rush event, and improve my timers in the process. Rest assured, I will be sharing any interesting discoveries I make along the way!

Over time, I’ve been somewhat skeptical about Sweeney, but recently, my admiration for him has significantly increased. Regardless of his campaign against Apple, it seems clear that he truly believes in Epic’s role as a champion against monopolies. Whether Epic itself can avoid becoming part of the same problem is something to consider.

The latest modifications to the Epic Games Store could mark a significant turning point. Since the word “free” on mobile devices might evoke both skepticism and curiosity, it’s important to note that premium mobile games have historically faced challenges in gaining acceptance on a platform perceived as smaller, despite boasting some exceptional releases under that category.

Given the absence of popular, community-favored competitors similar to Steam, it’s likely that many people will be seeking a third-party alternative for their gaming needs.

I’ve continued my habit of showing up late to things, and I’ve just begun playing God of War Ragnarok. This follows a somewhat mediocre experience with Far Cry: New Dawn. At times, a game that’s merely okay can be more disappointing than one that’s downright terrible, so I’ve chosen something where I’m confident I’ll have clear feelings about, whether they’re positive or negative.
