Suits is coming back, but with a twist – this time, instead of New York City, it will be set on the West Coast.
NBC has unveiled the first look at the upcoming spin-off series titled “Suits: LA“, a derivative of the popular drama show “Suits“, which ran on USA Network from 2011 to 2019 and featured Patrick J. Adams alongside Meghan Markle, who is now known as the Duchess of Sussex. In this new series, Stephen Amell plays Ted Black, a character who was once a New York prosecutor and has since relocated to Los Angeles where he now runs his own law firm.
Ted’s company is facing a critical situation, forcing him to take on a position he has despised throughout his career. Amidst a talented ensemble of characters, Ted experiences a test of loyalty towards them as well as among themselves. Their lives become intertwined, blurring the lines between personal and professional relationships.
The movie’s introduction features Dylan Pryor, portrayed by Victoria Justice, refusing a proposition made by Black. “You’re not my representative,” she explains. “I require someone who exudes confidence. To be honest, you come across as rather timid to me.
In another part of the trailer, Black remarks, “Things are different out here. People deceive, they manipulate, they do whatever it takes to come out on top.” Later on, a vintage photograph featuring Gabriel Macht’s character Harvey Specter appears, which Troy Winbush’s character Kevin is examining. Kevin then comments, “I’ve never liked him, he’s the only person I knew who was more arrogant than you,” to which Black replies, “That’s precisely why I admired him.
Bryan Greenberg, Josh McDermitt, Lex Scott Davis, Patton Oswalt, and Brian Baumgartner join the main cast. Aaron Korsh pens the scripts and also serves as the show’s executive producer.
Suits: LA is set to premiere on NBC on Feb. 23.
