Shemar Moore Reveals How Daughter Frankie ‘Saved’ His Life

While S.W.A.T is on break for another week, Shemar Moore has been keeping fans entertained by posting pictures of his daughter, Frankie. The actor and his partner, Jesiree Dizon, welcomed their little one on January 24, 2023, and since then, he’s been candid about his journey as a father in his fifties. He’s also shared that becoming a dad is fulfilling a dream his late mother had, making it even more heartwarming. Currently at 54 years old with a 2-year-old daughter, Moore recently revealed that Frankie has essentially saved his life.

On Friday, the actor made an appearance on “The Jennifer Hudson Show” to announce that TV series “S.W.A.T.” will be back in 2025. It’s no surprise that the conversation veered towards Moore’s daughter, a topic that the former “American Idol” finalist couldn’t resist bringing up, and honestly, I can understand why. The actor, radiating joy, was more than willing to discuss her, sharing that she is the reason behind his constant happiness.

That’s my miracle, that’s little Frankie. She is the reason I’m so damn happy. And my girl Jesiree.

Moore continued by telling us that he and Dizon had rekindled their relationship, and his late mother had always yearned to become a grandmother. He added that, with the help of God, they ensured he wouldn’t be on his own. Furthermore, he divulged their plans for her second birthday, and it was clear that he was just as thrilled as Frankie. However, he had a valid explanation, explaining that his child essentially meant everything to him.

That girl truly has given me purpose. She saved my life.

He shared more insights about his feelings, making clear how significant Frankie is to him and how fatherhood, particularly following his mother’s demise, has transformed his perspective on life. Despite his professional success and enduring popularity over the years, welcoming Frankie into the world has given him a fresh, renewed viewpoint on existence.

Although I don’t want to dwell too deeply, I feel compelled to express some genuine thoughts. My mom was more than just a parent to me; she was my confidante, my accomplice, and we shared a bond that was filled with both intense love and fierce disagreements. I dedicated my entire life to making her proud, but when she passed away, I felt utterly adrift. Despite having a good job, possessions, a house, and material comforts, I found myself questioning the purpose of it all. What’s the point, I thought, if I don’t have my mom here to share it with? Then little Frankie came into my life, and that’s when everything became clear: love and connection are what truly matter.

How To Stream S.W.A.T.

You can stream S.W.A.T. with a Paramount+ subscription.

Although not everyone may choose to become a father in their 50s, Shemar Moore seems perfectly suited for the role, and it’s heartwarming to witness his joy. Notably, after portraying a father figure on both Criminal Minds and S.W.A.T., it was only fitting that he experience fatherhood in real life. He appears to be an instinctive parent, and during the interview, as he watched videos of Frankie, his happiness was renewed all over again.

Speaking about it, might he desire having a second child? Earlier discussions hinted at the possibility of more children for Moore in the future. Furthermore, on “The Jennifer Hudson Show,” he confirmed this by saying that Dizon is already mother to an 18-year-old and a 6-year-old, making their household complete. He chooses to focus all his affection on his baby girl, which seems fitting under these circumstances.

Meanwhile, while Moore plays the role of a father to Frankie in the TV show S.W.A.T., he also fulfills this role in real life with his own child. Although the series doesn’t delve deeply into Hondo’s personal life since Rochelle Aytes left for another CBS drama called Watson, it occasionally touches upon it, as evidenced by Aytes’ recent return appearance. As a result, Moore is experiencing contentment both on-screen and off, which is heartening to witness.
