Joel Seigle’s Subwoofer Dining Table Merges Sound With Furniture

Born and raised in Elgin, Illinois, Joel Siegle found his roots deeply intertwined with nature and craftsmanship, thanks to his family’s local lumber yard. In 2024, he unveiled the Subwoofer Dining Table, or as some call it, the Table Bass – a distinctive fusion of practicality and elegance. Crafted from solid ash, the table top maintains a subtle, neutral hue, while its singular leg houses a JBL 2226h driver, adorned with a custom iridescent red finish.

In an effort to boost bass performance without compromising living space, Siegle creatively converted his dining table into a multi-functional subwoofer. The Table Bass was born out of Siegle’s realization that modern city homes often lack space for comprehensive home systems. He expressed this idea on Instagram by stating, “I’ve noticed subs concealed in coffee tables and benches, but I wanted to showcase the driver instead of hiding it.

He chose instead to incorporate the subwoofer directly into the overall design, which preserved the quality of sound while allowing for the replacement of a standard, mass-produced dining table with a custom and creative alternative.

Table Bass, designed by Siegle, showcases his innovative approach to resolving problems and commitment to exceptional design. Combining functionality and aesthetics, he devised a versatile item that elevates both the acoustic and visual elements within his personal environment.
