I must admit, I don’t understand what a movie is these days. It seems like they only play for a brief time in theaters before being shown on television just a week or two later. Frankly, I never entered this world to receive diminishing returns. Back then, in ’97 and even as recent as 2019, it was already a tough situation. But now, with things getting significantly worse, it’s become more of a show-pony exercise. Nowadays, a film is released in theaters, but within two weeks, you can stream it on various platforms.

It seems that Tarantino’s critical views on today’s cinematic experience could be the reason behind his shift in focus from filmmaking to an older form of storytelling, such as plays.
