Harrison Ford Has Become the Face Of Glenmorangie Highland Single Malt Whisky

Glenmorangie Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky has introduced a fresh marketing campaign starring Hollywood icon, Harrison Ford. Renowned for his blockbuster roles in the Star Wars saga, as well as his recent appearances in shows like the highly praised Shrinking, Ford is now venturing into the beverage sector by lending his dry and humorous wit to a series of comedic short films, which are being directed by actor-filmmaker Joel Edgerton.

In Glenmorangie Highland’s new advertisement series named “Once Upon a Time in Scotland,” Ford is showcased. This campaign offers a glimpse into the production process of their whisky as Harrison Ford ventures to Glenmorangie’s Highland estate, uncovering the artistry and dedication that are poured into every bottle. Reflecting on his time spent in the Highlands, Ford expressed, “I had an incredible experience,” adding that he didn’t expect Scotland to be so captivating. He further stated, “Once you arrive in Scotland, it’s like saying goodbye to any other place, because you’re now in Scotland.

Furthermore, the campaign shows the actor immersed in a genuine Scottish adventure. He encountered various aspects; learning about the intricacies of Scottish accent, donning kilts, socializing with locals over a glass of single malt whisky – and it was all captured in an unconventional, improvised manner.

As a fan, I’m proud to say that we held firm on our innovative concept, and fortunately, we had the freedom to explore its potential. In our line of work, such flexibility is often scarce, but Glenmorangie granted us that creative leeway. My father, who was an ad man, always spoke of the red tape in advertising. So, it’s refreshing to see a company like Glenmorangie embrace less seriousness and allow us to play, adding a touch of fun to our commercial production process.

The campaign took place near a centuries-old distillery in Tain, where Glenmorangie has been produced for over 180 years. It also ventured to the legendary Ardross Castle of the 19th century, as well as the breathtaking scenery around Loch Glass. Ford was accompanied by the actual Glenmorangie distillery crew, who tried their hands at acting under Ford’s direction. The campaign showcased the brand’s signature whiskies, Glenmorangie Original 12 Years Old and Glenmorangie Infinita 18 Years Old, prominently.

Ford remarked, “I found the Glenmorangie distillery staff simply outstanding! I prefer the authenticity and rough edges that come with experiencing things as they are, rather than having everything polished and perfect. Each adventure brought unexpected delight.
