Psych! Benedict Cumberbatch Will Be In Avengers: Doomsday After All, So What Does This Mean For Doctor Strange 3?

Looking ahead, there are many exciting Marvel films on the horizon, and among them, two stand out as the most anticipated: “Avengers: Doomsday” and “Avengers: Secret Wars.” These movies serve a similar role in The Multiverse Saga to what “Infinity War” and “Endgame” did in The Infinity Saga, meaning we can expect a large ensemble of Marvel superheroes uniting once more to combat a significant menace – in this instance, Doctor Doom played by Robert Downey Jr. However, recent news has shown that Benedict Cumberbatch‘s participation in “Doomsday” was initially misreported, but he will indeed be appearing in the film. This development has me pondering if it could have any impact on “Doctor Strange 3.

Previously, it was stated that Doctor Strange wouldn’t appear in Avengers: Doomsday because the character didn’t fit with this section of the plot. However, Benedict Cumberbatch, who plays Doctor Strange, has since clarified that he may have been mistaken, as he informed Business Insider that his initial statement might not have been accurate.

I got that wrong, I am in the next one.

Later, the star of Sherlock subtly remarked, “Never trust anything I say” when asked about how other Marvel actors have misled about their roles in films (we’re thinking of you, Andrew Garfield). However, if he were to clarify his earlier statement, we could confidently assert that Cumberbatch will indeed reprise the character of Stephen Strange in Doomsday, rather than this being a deception. On the other hand, given that this is the same actor who was rumored to play John Harrison in Star Trek Into Darkness, only for the character to actually be Khan Noonien Singh, it wouldn’t surprise me if Cumberbatch chose to remain silent about what’s really going on.

More to come…
