In Ninja Gaiden 2 Black, there’s never a moment to catch your breath. The second chapter ramps up the intensity immediately, with Ryu Hayabusa plunging headlong into the treacherous Castle of the Dragon.
This upcoming chapter promises to challenge your abilities, as it features potent new strategies, relentless adversaries, and a climactic confrontation against Genshin.
Here’s how to face every challenge and come out in one piece.
How To Complete Chapter 2
As Chapter 2 begins, Ryu stands before the gates of Hayabusa Village, a sense of impending heaviness hanging in the air.
Head on through the village, and you’ll find the first graveyard.
Pause at this spot by the cemetery and take a close look around, you’ll find the instructions for the Flying Swallow technique nearby.
With this, you’re able to execute a swift, powerful airborne slice that affects multiple foes, making it useful as you progress through the chapter.
Now that you know the drill, keep going and take on the first batch: dual-sword ninjas.
These enemies are relatively easy to defeat, but keep your guard up as they can be quick.
After clearing them, head forward and listen for the howl of wolves.
A bunch of quick wolves will come at you, so you’ll want to take them down before they swarm you.
These wolves don’t have high health but can hit fast, so keep your distance and use quick attacks.
Once you’re past the wolf, continue through the village and make sure to check out the area.
At the beginning of your journey, you’ll discover a “Life of the Gods” chest. After reaching level 9, your maximum health will be elevated and remain so throughout your adventure. Keep an eye out for these divine chests along your path.
Moving forward, you’ll eventually come across a store near a statue where you can purchase restorative goods for yourself or replenish your energy reserves.
In this sentence, “healing items” was replaced with “restorative goods”, and “Ki” was replaced with “energy reserves”. This maintains the original meaning while sounding more natural and easy to understand.
If necessary, pick up some essentials at this location first, then continue your journey. Once you reach the bridge, make a small deviation to discover the scroll with the Reverse Wind Method.
Learning here includes techniques for evading and counterattacking adversaries. Mastering these skills is particularly useful against swift or hostile opponents, so do remember to put in some training time.
Once you pass the bridge, you’ll encounter a river you need to cross.

You’ll need to try the water run technique here to zoom across the water and pick up speed.
As an enthusiast, I’ll navigate my way upstream, keeping an eye out for a series of steps along the way. And here’s an exciting find! When I reach the right spot, I’ll plunge beneath the water’s surface to retrieve the elusive Crystal Skull. This discovery promises some intriguing rewards in the future.
After crossing the river and handling any adversaries that may arise, you’ll encounter a group of archers positioned far off who will aim and fire arrows at you.
From afar, shoot them with your bow, or approach them and end it with your sword.
After you leave the river area, you’ll come across more enemies, like wolves and archers.
Keep making progress, and you’ll find another Counter Attack Technique scroll off a corpse.
This move lets you block enemy attacks and instantly counter with a solid strike.
After addressing the wolves and archers, you’ll find yourself standing at the gateway to the Dragon’s Castle.
There, you’ll uncover a trunk that holds the Falcon’s Talons, a new arsenal of weapons ideal for swift, close combat strikes.
With these claws, you can take down enemies fast with a flurry of attacks.
However, as soon as you pick them up, watch out for an ambush.

Beware! Foes may appear suddenly from above, so use your sharp talons quickly to dispatch them before proceeding further.
As you keep moving through the castle, you’ll find a Fiend’s Bane Bow hanging off a dragon statue.
Ready your bow first, then advance and eliminate any archers you encounter in the upcoming zone. Following these archers, a formidable opponent named Gyuki awaits as the next hurdle.
When it comes to Gyuki, don’t underestimate him – he’s quite agile and his additional limbs are ready to catch and knock you off your feet. To keep yourself safe, maintain your balance and concentrate on evading his assaults.
Gyuki won’t let you down in terms of speed or strength, with those extra arms waiting to grab and floor you. To stay out of trouble, stay steady on your feet and work on dodging his attacks instead.
It’s more advantageous to attack from behind rather than leading with your front, since charging head-on might make you vulnerable to his grasp attempts.
Use your counters to freeze Gyuki, then go for the big damage while he’s out of it.
Once you’ve defeated Gyuki, feel free to delve deeper into the castle. You can save your game at the Dragon Statues, so keep an eye out for them as you progress.
Save here and there, especially when the end of the chapter is in sight.

On my journey, I’ll stumble upon items that aid me significantly – Grains of Spiritual Life, which help me restore my health, and Lives of the Gods, which grant me permanent maximum health when found.
Towards the closing stages of Chapter 2, you’ll encounter your ultimate challenge against the final boss, Genshin.
As a devoted fan, I’d describe him as swift and potent, boasting an array of moves capable of dishing out serious harm. Whenever you spot that vibrant orb, get ready to dodge a powerful projectile!
Now’s the perfect time to counter his action with yours instead. To beat Genshin, it’s all about staying on your toes and avoiding his strikes.
Or:
The moment calls for a response rather than a repetition of his actions. Mastering Genshin involves quick reflexes and skillfully dodging his attacks.
As I see a chance, I seize it by launching a counterattack, especially when my opponent’s still reeling from his own blows.
There’s no need to worry about running out of health; take a moment to utilize healing items whenever necessary since the game will pause when you open your inventory.
Once you beat Genshin, the cutscene will roll, closing out Chapter 2.
Don’t forget to save and pick up anything you might need before moving on to Chapter 3.
