2025 sees skaiwater releasing their initial single of the year, and this isn’t just any single – it’s their first since the critically acclaimed #gigi album was launched in June. The album gained significant attention after receiving numerous positive reviews, placing the UK artist on many radars. Now, the budding rapper has revealed a new track following last summer’s album release, titled “pop.
The nearly three-minute song is a solo work from skai, who along with Elkan and anca trio plus one, also contributes to its production. Known for their distinctive rapid-fire delivery and a slick yet intense production style, “pop” enhances skai’s genre-bending perspective, significantly influenced by their personal experiences as a nonbinary person.
Come outside with me, it’s all good (All good; phew) / Sure, let’s go outside, you and me, we’re safe / Sure, I sent a text to everyone of hers (Everyone) / Sure, I spent a lot of time (A lot),” Skai raps in the catchy chorus.
Recently, Skaiwater performed for the first time at Rolling Loud Festival’s Miami edition. They are scheduled to appear again at the now two-day Rolling Loud festival in California, taking place in March.
