Skip the stumble during crucial moments; instead, let excitement sweep you off your feet as Mardi Gras takes over Universal Orlando Resort! Although many believe Halloween is when Universal Orlando truly dazzles, I, being a bit timid, find myself more enchanted by Mardi Gras – an extended two-month celebration filled with music, delectable food, and vibrant parades. If you haven’t yet witnessed Mardi Gras at Universal, I strongly suggest you reconsider; you don’t even require a theme park pass to savor some of its most enchanting aspects.
This past weekend, I attended the inaugural day of Universal Orlando’s Mardi Gras celebration. While I was thoroughly impressed by everything within Universal Studios Florida, from the delicious food to the spectacular parade and the Tribute Store, if given the opportunity, the place I would revisit instantly is not actually located inside the park – it’s part of Universal CityWalk. Fortunately, there’s no admission fee, although you might choose to purchase a drink.
The Cursed Coconut Club At Universal CityWalk Has The Best Mardi Gras Vibes
The Red Coconut Club, a bar and nightclub, can be found on the higher level of Universal CityWalk. It’s an ideal spot to visit if you don’t want your evening to end when the theme parks close, as Universal tends to wrap up its parks rather early. But what truly sets this location apart is that it frequently alters its ambiance and decorations to match Universal’s various festivities.
For Halloween Horror Nights, they call it the Dead Coconut Club, while during the holidays it transforms into the Red and Green Coconut Club. This year at Mardi Gras, you’ll find the Cursed Coconut Club, and it’s simply amazing!
Decorations perfectly capture the Mardi Gras vibe, making the club feel unique and unlike any ordinary nightclub. A variety of themed drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, are offered to enhance this extraordinary ambiance, transporting you straight to New Orleans. Additionally, live music performances exclusive to the venue will provide an unforgettable, fun-filled experience that will keep you dancing all night long.
Universal Orlando Knows How To Appeal To Adults As Well As Kids
It’s not uncommon to hear discussions about “Disney enthusiasts who have grown up,” a group of individuals who maintain a deep affection for Disney, particularly its theme parks. On the other hand, while there’s no widely used term, one might refer to similar fans of Universal Studios as “Universal Adults.
Universal Orlando Resort caters to a wide range of ages, similar to other theme parks. Notably, it features a Dr. Seuss-themed land within one park and another dedicated to DreamWorks animation properties. Additionally, a separate Universal Kids Resort is being constructed in Texas. However, it also offers experiences such as Halloween Horror Nights and the Cursed Coconut Club, which are primarily designed for adults rather than young children. These areas offer unique experiences tailored towards grown-ups.
I really enjoy visiting amusement parks with my children, yet occasionally, there’s a desire for some grown-up time. Mardi Gras, being an adult-oriented event, shares the same flexibility as Halloween Horror Nights in terms of intensity. While it doesn’t cross the line into explicit content, it undeniably caters to an adult audience.
