At the 2025 Super Bowl, an array of movie stars graced the event as the Philadelphia Eagles faced off against the Kansas City Chiefs. Stars such as Bradley Cooper, Miles Teller, Adam Sandler, Paul Rudd, Kevin Costner, and Jon Hamm were among those present. However, one film personality that took everyone by surprise was none other than Stitch, the lovable alien from the 2002 Disney animated movie, Lilo & Stitch. Before his upcoming live-action remake on May 23, Stitch decided to make a playful and unanticipated visit to the Super Bowl.
In the 2025 Super Bowl commercial for Lilo & Stitch, Disney opted against displaying any clips from the upcoming film. Instead, mischievous Stitch took center stage, creating chaos on the field. The commentator announced, “Hold on, there’s a breaking news incident happening on the field,” before the camera focused on a blue, fluffy creature scampering across the grass. In a live-action twist, Stitch eluded security by darting between their legs and dodging being trapped under trash cans. When they thought they had him cornered, Stitch burrowed underground only to resurface in a cart, charging towards the end zone, where the crowd erupted in cheers as he collided with the goalposts.
The fresh take on the beloved animated film “Lilo & Stitch” is being helmed by Dean Fleischer Camp, who’s known for “Marcel the Shell with Shoes On.” Chris Sanders reprises his role as the voice of Stitch, while Maia Kealoha breathes life into Lilo in live-action. The upcoming remake boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including names like Hannah Waddingham, Billy Magnussen, Tia Carrere, Zach Galifianakis, Courtney B. Vance, and Sydney Agudong.
‘Lilo & Stitch’ Fans Are Still Waiting For a Full Trailer
The upcoming real-life adaptation of the beloved animated film “Lilo & Stitch” is scheduled to hit cinemas on May 23 of this year. Yet, despite being less than three months away from its premiere, fans have yet to lay eyes on a complete trailer. Back in November, we got our initial glimpse at the movie through a brief, 30-second preview that showcased Stitch causing chaos by knocking over some sandcastles on the beach. However, that’s pretty much all Disney has shared thus far.
Many eager fans are looking forward to seeing more elements from the original movie, specifically the live-action adaptation. So far, we haven’t met Lilo (portrayed by Maia Kealoha) or her sister Nani (Sydney Agudong) on screen, and the same goes for the other alien characters like Stitch’s creators, Pleakley (Billy Magnussen) and Jumba (Zach Galifianakis). There’s anticipation in the air as we wait for a full-length trailer to drop, as we move ever closer to the May release date. Right now, you can stream the original beloved Lilo & Stitch on Disney+. The official synopsis of the upcoming movie goes like this:
In simpler terms, the 2020 live-action version of the beloved 2002 Disney animation “Lilo & Stitch” is an amusing and heartwarming tale about a young Hawaiian girl feeling isolated and an outlaw alien who assists in healing her fractured family.
