The Bandier Program for the Fields of Recording and Entertainment has established its initial advisory committee, as per a school announcement made on Tuesday.
Syracuse University’s Newhouse School, home to its renowned Music Business program, has established its inaugural advisory board. This board is made up of accomplished alumni and professionals from within the music industry. The role of this group will be instrumental in determining the future direction of one of the nation’s leading music business programs, as stated in a recent announcement.
The 13-person board comprises employees from well-established music companies such as Warner Chappell, Virgin Music, Sony Music Nashville, Interscope Records, Sirius XM, and Sony Music Publishing. They will collaborate with Bill Werde, director of the Bandier program, and Lisa Steele, its managing director, to assist the program by offering mentorship and aiding in job placement, as stated in an announcement.
Dean Mark Lodato expressed that the array of talents and professional journeys of the initial 13 members of our Advisory Board reflect the exceptional tradition in music business education at Syracuse University and Newhouse School. In recognition of their skills and success, we are thankful for their willingness to provide their wisdom and collaborate with us as we strive to support Bandier students in achieving their goals,” reads a statement from the Dean.
Back in 2011, I was part of the inaugural graduating class from Bandier’s bachelor program. Now, as a proud alumnus, I’m thrilled about the upcoming development – The Newhouse School is teaming up with the College of Visual and Performing Arts to launch a music business master’s degree program in the fall! Can’t wait to see where this new venture takes us music enthusiasts!
This group consists of Joey Papoutsis, Caitlin Lytle, Max Weinberg, Suryansh Singh, Tamzin Folz, Darius Baharlo, Rachel Kelly, Margaret Tomlin, Bria Lewis, Gabz Landman, Joel Klaiman, Lisa Steele, Grant Palmer, CJ Strock, Jon Cohen, Justin Shukat, and Steve Magee. The university’s degree program bears the name of Martin Bandier, a notable figure in the music publishing industry, who holds a position as a lifelong trustee at the institution.
