Meet actor who prepped for Indian Army before getting breakthrough opposite Aishwarya Rai, worked with Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Kajol, Vidya Balan; recently featured in popular crime-drama series

In recent years, the Indian film industry has been home to numerous gifted actors who have been active in multiple languages for several decades. However, it was not until he began appearing in Hindi films that the admirers of Bollywood cinema truly appreciated his acting skills. A notable example is Tota Roy Choudhury, whose performances alongside stars like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Vidya Balan, Kajol, Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, and others, caught the attention of many viewers.

Prior to making a significant impact in Bengali films, Tota Roy Choudhury had different plans; he was actually preparing for the Indian Army and studying hard to pass his entrance exams. However, fate had other ideas as he received an offer for a minor role in director Prabhat Roy’s movie instead.

His breakthrough role in Chokher Bali brought him into the limelight and earned him numerous honors. After that, he appeared in the 2017 political thriller film “Indu Sarkar,” directed by Madhur Bhandarkar. 2023 saw Choudhury captivate audiences with his stunning Kathak dance performance alongside Ranveer Singh in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. Not only was his dancing skillful, but his portrayal of Chandon Chatterjee garnered widespread acclaim, becoming a hot topic among townsfolk.
