On the northern fringe of Kuttenberg, you’ll cross paths with an exceptional character named Menhard, who adds a dash of originality to the game’s cast.

In this game, Menhard is depicted as a character who brandishes his swords at anyone approaching him. When addressed, he issues a challenge to a duel. If you manage to defeat him, he will guide you in enhancing your swordsmanship abilities. Now, let’s embark on the Ars Dimicatoria quest together within Kingdom Come Deliverance 2.

How To Complete The Ars Dimicatoria Quest In Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

To locate Menhard van Frankfurt and embark on your journey, make your way to the street lying north of the Iron Eagle Tavern. Do take note – Menhard won’t be present during the night, so ensure you visit during daylight hours. As you approach, you’ll notice him engaging passersby in fights. Now, engage him in conversation and agree to his challenge. Once a specific amount of damage is exchanged, the fight will be abruptly halted by some men.

These individuals are requesting that you avoid engaging in a sword fight on the city streets. You can deescalate the situation by successfully engaging them in conversation, as indicated by a skill check. If you manage to persuade them, Menhard will invite you for a meeting at Emperor Charles Tavern within the city. However, if you fail the skill checks and they force Menhard out, you’ll need to connect with him at Oak Wagoner’s Inn located outside Kuttenberg instead.

Learn About Menhard’s Plans

When conversing with Menhard at either specified taverns, he’ll propose a task: stealing the Brotherhood’s sword for his personal display above their guild hall, intending to embarrass them. To minimize risk, do this covertly during the night. You can locate the guild hall in the southwestern sector of the city.

To access the main hall, you’ll find a challenging lock on the front door. If your lock-picking abilities aren’t sufficient, we’ll provide an alternate method. Simply navigate to the yard’s right side and look for a pile of logs. Climb over them to enter the backyard of the hall. Be aware that guards are patrolling this area, so stay alert. You can either pick the difficult lock on the back door or use the side door instead.

Steal The Guild Longsword

As a cunning gamer, I’d guide you this way: Venture upstairs to the second level, then veer right at the door. Hidden near the table’s head, you’ll spot the Guild Longsword on the wall. Grab it swiftly, but quietly, and skedaddle from the guild hall. You can retrace your steps or bolt out the front if no guards are about.

First, make your way directly to the heart of Kuttenberg where the town hall lies. When night falls, approach the town hall as it’s usually bustling with people during daytime. Upon entering, find the wall and deposit the sword there. Once completed, return to Menhard and share that the heist went smoothly. Subsequently, you two will head to the town hall together.”

Win The Duels

As you travel along, express your readiness to assist him with the impending challenge. To participate in the tournament, you need to become a member of the swordfighting guild. Once you’ve taken the oath, inform Menhard that you are prepared, and he will lead you to the duels.
