Five years after wrapping up its final episodes, we find ourselves revisiting the world of “Suits,” albeit in a slightly different form. Introducing “Suits: Los Angeles” – a series set within the same universe, but boasting an entirely fresh cast of lawyers spearheaded by Stephen Amell, who’s best known for his role in Arrow. Despite the new faces, expect some familiar connections to the original hit show, with Gabriel Macht reprising his iconic role as Harvey Specter. Intriguingly, it has recently been confirmed that Harvey Specter will be making a return in this spinoff, and a newly released promo for “Suits: LA” hints at a more substantial appearance than just a brief cameo.
In the latest trailer for Suits LA, the main character Ted Black, played by Amell, reaches out to his old friend – none other than Harvey Specter. The brief clip transitions to Gabriel Macht as Harvey, seated in a car en route to the Los Angeles firm. It’s exciting news that this isn’t just a one-time appearance but rather a significant role spanning across three episodes. Although it’s unclear at this point how Harvey will influence the storyline, it seems he might offer some valuable advice to Amell’s lawyer whose law firm is facing a critical juncture.
Despite having a lengthy hiatus from acting following Suits to prioritize family and other projects, Macht shared with PEOPLE that his decision to reprise his role as Harvey was driven not by personal desire, but by the fans’ expectations. In Suits LA, he will offer a taste of nostalgia for loyal fans (and those who have recently discovered Suits through its streaming success) while simultaneously setting the stage for an engaging future for the TV series.
I’m not doing this for myself, but for the fans. With 134 instances under my belt, I can affirm that it’s not about me. Truth be told, I wasn’t particularly keen on returning to acting as I had been engrossed in it before and wanted to devote my time to raising my kids and pursuing projects like Bear Fight.
If there were an option that aligned well for my family, if it fit perfectly into our schedule, and if I could somehow hand over the responsibility to Stephen Amell and the cast in Los Angeles, I would be thrilled to contribute in any way possible to the show’s success – essentially bestowing a blessing upon it.
He’s Back — Harvey Specter Returns in ‘Suits LA’ Promo
Starting soon at NBC and Peacock, the popular series Suits LA is set to return with its original key character while introducing a fresh group of actors. Alongside Stephen Amell, the supporting cast includes Lex Scott Davis from The First Purge, Josh McDermitt known for his role in The Walking Dead, and Bryan Greenberg who gained fame in How to Make it in America. Only Gabriel Macht has been confirmed to return from the original Suits, though his appearance might pave the way for more familiar faces in future episodes. However, whether or not we’ll see more cast members from the original series depends on both the success of Suits LA and the availability of certain actors, particularly Patrick J. Adams.
Ted Black, a once-prominent federal prosecutor from New York, has undergone a transformation, now representing high-profile clients in Los Angeles. However, his law firm is teetering on the brink of collapse, forcing him to take on a role he’s long despised. Amidst this turmoil, Ted finds himself surrounded by an impressive cast of individuals who are pushed to their limits as they grapple with their allegiances, both to Ted and to one another. As they navigate their intertwined personal and professional lives, the story unfolds, gradually revealing the past events that caused Ted to abandon everything and everyone he cherished.
