Dead Man’s Mail treasure map solution in Avowed

The Dead Man’s Mail hidden map leads you to a particular ruin within the vast and complex landscape of Shatterscarp. However, with numerous sites resembling your target, locating the right one could be tricky amidst Avowed’s desert expanse. Be prepared for a tougher challenge in Shatterscarp, as it surpasses earlier regions like Dawnshore in size and difficulty, making the treasure hunt even more arduous.

Instead of making you hunt for the right debris across Shatterscarp, I took care of that task for you. Fortunately, there are hints on this treasure map, like the big bell and the tower, which assist in pinpointing the location. If you haven’t found the map yet, it can be located on a skeleton in a tent situated beneath the ‘sea’ area marker in the Great Sand Sea.

Dead Man’s Mail treasure map solution

The buried loot known as The Dead Man’s Mail can be found nestled within a modest ruin that overlooks the Xaurip encampment to the north of Shark’s Teeth in the northern region of Shatterscarp. This hidden treasure lies sandwiched between Tago’s Tower and Ryngrim’s Domain.

The Dead Man’s Mail, a hidden hoard, is stashed in a tiny ruin that overlooks a Xaurip camp, located to the north of Shark’s Teeth in northern Shatterscarp. This secret cache is tucked between Tago’s Tower and Ryngrim’s Domain.

To reach this location:

  1. Travel to the Shark’s Teeth party camp
  2. Walk up the first ramp heading to the northwest
  3. Drop down to the lower platform to your right, where you’ll see a Xaurip camp with wooden barricades (which you’ll need to clear if you haven’t already)
  4. Walk towards the large tower to the west between two buildings
  5. Just after passing the wooden spike barricades, turn right and climb up the collapsed pillar
  6. Walk around the corner to find the locked treasure chest which requires three lockpicks to open

Different from many typical treasure maps, the Dead Man’s Mail chest requires a key to unlock it. Since you’ll need three lockpicks, opening it isn’t exactly a budget-friendly endeavor.

Discovering the necromancer’s hidden fortune rewards you with nothing less than the enigmatic Necropants, a medium armor piece that calls forth a spectral companion to join your battles and offers a 30% boost against poison buildup. Although this isn’t the most superior armor available, it’s an ideal fit for summoner-centric gameplay. Do keep in mind that such items grant you active, rather than passive, abilities. Failing to assign the ability could leave you essentially unarmored.

In my gaming world, while adventuring through Shark’s Teeth, it’s smart to swing by Ihaka’s cave, located west of Tago’s Tower. This merchant has the Robe of the Arcane Cheater treasure map up for sale. Plus, you can uncover one piece of the Totem of Revelations in Shark’s Teeth as well!
