Among Us 3D Is Coming Soon to Connect PC and VR Players Like Never Before

3D version of Among Us is on its way, and the creators, Innersloth, are adding a first-person perspective to enhance the gaming experience!

First released as Among Us VR in 2022, this version is now branching out beyond virtual reality.

3D integration in Among Us will bring a more interactive and inclusive multiplayer scenario, as cross-platform gameplay between PC and VR users is now possible. Instead of the traditional top-down perspective, players will immerse themselves directly into the game world, experiencing it from the viewpoint of either a crewmate or an impostor. The upgrade to Among Us 3D signifies that gamers on Steam PC, Oculus Quest, Steam VR, PlayStation VR 2, and PICO can now enjoy collaborative fun without any restrictions.

Initially, VR was essential for an immersive gaming experience; however, PC players can now enjoy the same level of immersion without additional hardware. Features such as proximity voice chat, interactive tasks, customization options, which are found in games like Among Us VR, will be incorporated. The development team has hinted at new roles, game modes, and collaborations in the near future. While details about forthcoming updates remain under wraps, Innersloth guarantees continued updates and new features for Among Us 3D.

Although Asymmetric 3D and the standard 2D versions of Among Us can play together on PC and VR systems, they’re unable to do so because their game mechanics are fundamentally different. The 3D version offers a first-person perspective, while the original provides a top-down view, making cross-play impractical. Nevertheless, players using various VR and PC platforms will be able to enjoy the same exciting gameplay experience.

If you’re interested, you can check out the demo during Steam Next Fest taking place from February 24 to March 3, 2025. During this event, you’ll get a sneak peek of the first-person perspective, although not all the features will be included at the game’s launch.

You might want to add the game to your wishlist on Steam so you’ll be notified as soon as it becomes available for purchase (the exact release date hasn’t been announced yet, but it’s expected to come out soon).
