When you first begin playing Realms of Pixel, it might appear that all you need to do is conquer new Adventure mode levels and take breaks – far from it! If you’re curious about the various activities available (and how to excel at them), today I am pleased to provide a detailed guide on Realms of Pixel that should clarify everything for you.
As a gamer, I’ve found that this game ramps up its challenge level steadily, like many others do. To advance, you’ll need some serious firepower under your belt. Even if you start off with top-tier 5-star heroes, they won’t be enough to carry you through the tougher stages. Sounds daunting? That’s because it is. But don’t worry, you can collect duplicates of your heroes and level them up, giving you a better chance at victory. In essence, you need to build a powerful team to succeed in this game.
Today, let’s discuss the steps you need to take to access the end-game content, as well as things to avoid. With my own past missteps in mind, I urge you to steer clear of similar pitfalls! This information is detailed on the upcoming pages.
Do you want to be F2P or not, really?
The first thing you should decide is whether or not you want to spend real money here. Will you rely on every single resource you can get your hands on, and maximise them? As you can imagine, there is a P2W factor, since it’s a gacha.
The significance of VIP levels cannot be overstated; they can be enhanced by either making payments or accomplishing Achievements. Strive to attain VIP level 2, at the very least, as this grants you the ability to employ the Marvel Recruit. This feature costs 1000 Energy and could result in a 5-star Hero if fortune favors you.

Below you can find tips and tricks for Realms of Pixel, as well as some useful resources that will enable you to progress quickly.
1 Tip #1 – Progress as fast as you can at the beginning
Initially, the game may appear somewhat sluggish, but to fully explore its offerings, you’ll need to progress through multiple levels. To put it frankly, advancing a significant amount is necessary. Once you reach a fairly advanced level, you’ll unlock most of the end-game features, which are not only enjoyable but also quite rewarding.
How to progress fast in Realms of Pixel
In my experience, what I recommend you do to progress as quickly as possible is to do as many summons as you can at the start. You will get quite a few summon tickets from the log-ins and events, and if you redeem the codes, you’ll have a chunk of resources that you can use to help you get some (hopefully) good heroes.
Once you’ve assembled a solid team of around 2 to 3 strong characters, you can start channeling your resources towards their development and attempt to progress through as many stages as possible. As you reach specific level thresholds, you’ll be rewarded generously with items like gear, heroes, or even 5-star hero shards, which will prove beneficial in the long run.
Just focus on this, and you will find yourself levelling up at a decent rate in no time!
2 Tip #2 – Save your Gems
The Gems you have play an essential role in acquiring temporary heroes or boosting your VIP rank. As a Free-to-Play (F2P) user, you’ll find yourself needing quite a few of these gems to perform every summon available during special, time-bound events.
It’s a good idea for you to accumulate as many Gems as possible without using them to summon heroes at this point. Once you reach about level 80, you’ll have a better understanding of how to use your Gems effectively and decide where to spend them wisely. For now, focus on the resources you can gather from PvE (Player vs Environment) and events instead.
3 Tip #3 – Pick the right starter heroes to focus on
Initially, it might be unlikely that you’ll obtain your desired heroes during your initial pulls. To increase your chances significantly, aim to reach level 20 quickly and cash in on the newcomer summon tickets. As you advance through levels, your rewards will grow, potentially offering up to 4000 draws. By logging in each day, you’ll receive 15 free tickets daily, starting from day 1 up until day 267, which is almost nine months.
As a gamer, once I’ve scored some free summon tickets, it’s time to build my dream team! To kick things off, it’s wise to target heroes from the top tiers of our tier list – that’s from S+ all the way down to A tier. In my experience, characters like Etch Witch, Sword Sage, and Moonshadow are absolute game-changers when it comes to taking down enemies with ease.
4 Tip #4 – Don’t forget about the freebies
In the world of Pixel Realms, there are numerous free items up for grabs. To make steady advancements each day and quickly access end-game content, it’s recommended that you strive to accomplish everything on a daily basis.
Some of the tasks include:
- Log in every day (even if you can’t play the game) so you can claim the rewards.
- Use an Invite Code at the start to get even more rewards (Bonus> Invite Code). You can find one in the global chat – just copy it and type it there.
- Redeem the exclusive codes.
- Get your idle rewards (“Gains while Offline” from the Adventure> stopwatch on the bottom left corner).
- Check your mailbox for daily rewards from the devs or from Arena ranking.
- There are social media events running on the Facebook page or Discord server, which you can attend.
Indeed, there are plenty more, yet some necessitate a brief engagement – like the daily rewards. If your schedule permits, they’re definitely worth exploring further.
5 Tip #5 – Check the Shop regularly
At the Store, there are multiple options available. You can swap resources for items, or use Gold or Gems to make direct purchases. Among the things I’d strongly suggest you buy daily, they would be:
1. Gold – a valuable resource that speeds up game progression.
2. Gems – a premium currency used for special purchases and time-saving features.
Daily Shop:
- Daily free reward (it’s free!)
- Star Isle Visa (25 Gems)
- 5-Star Hero Shard x5 (200 Gems)
- Moon Grimoire (if you need it) (600 Gems)
- Meteor Grimoire (if you need it) (300 Gems)
- Ascend Crest (only if you need) (80 Gems)
Mystery Shop:
- Specific gold gears (only if you need)
- Meteor Grimoire (for Gold)
- Star Isle Visa
- 5-star hero shards
- 5-star heroes
Hero Shop:
- Vanquisher Shards
- Other S+ or S tier hero shards
Arena Shop:
- Awakening Vial (if you need)
- Dormant Hourglass (if you need) – it’s good to have at least a couple of them for backup
Shattered Shop:
- Whatever you feel like – it’s not that easy gathering a lot of Relic Prisms, so by the time you have enough, you’ll know exactly what you want to buy.
Ruins Shop:
- Same as Shattered Shop.
6 Tip #6 – Play in the Arena every day
At first glance, it might not be clear what benefits come from taking on Arena challenges, but if you feel compelled to bypass them entirely, I understand. Yet, despite appearing unpromising, I wholeheartedly suggest that you persevere and climb the ranks with each of your daily attempts.
Engage opponents who are less powerful than yourself, aim for the highest rank possible, as each day a reward tailored to your ranking will be delivered to your inbox. It’s particularly advantageous to confront adversaries within the Arena at the end of the day, once you’ve significantly improved your team and your strength has increased substantially.
Additionally, the greater the challenges you take on, the more Arena Medals you’ll accumulate. These medals can be used to buy items from the Arena Shop. So, don’t miss out on this opportunity!
7 Tip #7 – Form a team based on the Attributes bonus for maximum power
To assemble your team, look for the Attribute Suppress bonus located at the upper-left part of the screen. It provides insight into the bonus your team receives due to the attributes of the heroes you’ve placed.
For optimal results, aim to assemble a team consisting of six Advent/Ascension characters. This setup will provide an additional 36% HP and 24% ATK. Until you acquire all six Advent/Ascension heroes, you can take advantage of the Order/Justice/Freedom bonus instead.
It’s ideal to field six characters from the same group for optimal effect, as having a larger number of these characters active will yield superior results.
For a newcomer, I’d recommend an Order team (colored blue) as the most straightforward choice, since it fields six blue heroes. However, the ideal team ultimately depends on which heroes you’ve summoned. In most cases, aim to build a team with the majority of heroes you possess.
