2025 finally brings us Season 3 of the captivating series “Yellowjackets,” and honestly, it’s time for some answers! Over the years, this show has left my mind buzzing with questions alongside fellow enthusiasts: Who is the mysterious pit girl? What’s the significance behind that cryptic symbol? And just how much of what we witness can truly be deciphered?
However, during an engaging conversation with Jasmin Savoy Brown and Liv Hewson about the show, I couldn’t help but inquire about the dirt – not just the figurative layers of mystery surrounding the plot, but also the literal grit that seems to permeate every scene.
Yes, I Asked Jasmin Savoy Brown About Taissa Eating Dirt
At press days, there’s always a crowd of journalists. You never know exactly what they might ask when you step into an interview room, and it can sometimes feel like they’ve been answering the same question all day. So, I had prepared many questions but ended up asking her, “What is the composition of this dirt?” This is how Savoy Brown phrased it:
At press events, journalists are everywhere. You never know what they might ask as you enter an interview room, and it can sometimes seem like they’ve been answering the same question all day. So, I had a list of questions ready, but for some reason, I found myself asking her, “What is this dirt made of?
Initially, it tasted like pulverized Oreos, a delightful experience indeed. However, as time progressed, the taste became overpowering, and I found myself longing for water and disliking Oreos momentarily.
And there it is! I suspected it was Oreos, but perhaps it was genuine soil? It’s possible that Jasmin Savoy Brown took a method acting approach with this. As you might remember from the first season of Yellowjackets, Taissa, played by Brown, is shown eating dirt in the dead of night, and as her character progresses into the future, it seems this habit persists.
As a passionate movie buff diving into the upcoming season, I can’t help but feel intrigued by the enigma that is Taissa. Her persistent sleepwalking problem hints at something deeper, possibly Dissociative Identity Disorder. I eagerly await Season 3 to shed more light on her story – it appears that neither of her personas has managed to gain control yet.

Why Does Taissa Eat Dirt Anyways?
After discovering that Jasmin Savoy Brown was actually eating Oreos in the well-known scene, you might be curious about why she did so. Upon further investigation, I found out it’s probably related to the malnutrition experienced by Taissa and other Yellowjackets in the wilderness. It seems that iron and mineral deficiencies can lead to a desire to eat non-food items like dirt, which is known as pica.
As a dedicated fan, I can’t help but notice that Taissa seems to carry on an old habit under stress, which only deepens my fascination for her enigmatic character. I’m absolutely thrilled to follow her journey and see where it leads. At least we know she’s still alive, unlike Natalie played by Juliette Lewis (a twist that kept us guessing!).
