Paresh Rawal defends Hera Pheri co-star Akshay Kumar against criticism that he does too many films: ‘Creates jobs for thousands’

More recently, Paresh Rawal came to the defense of his long-time acting partner Akshay Kumar, who is frequently criticized for his heavy workload and numerous films in a year. Paresh highlighted Akshay’s diligence and commitment, brushing off the criticism as unwarranted. In response to questions about Akshay’s busy film schedule, Paresh stated that Akshay genuinely enjoys working and has no secret motives behind it.

In a frank conversation with Siddharth Kannan, Paresh Rawal stated, “Why create a fuss over him doing numerous movies? Aren’t people going to him for movie-making, after all?” He further explained, “If I were a producer, I would hire an actor only if the money invested could be justified. Akshay enjoys working, and he isn’t engaging in illegal activities like smuggling or gambling; instead, he is simply putting in as much effort as he can.” Paresh concluded that Akshay’s choice to star in many movies should not face criticism because it generates employment opportunities within the industry—a factor frequently disregarded.

Paresh found it inappropriate when people criticized Akshay Kumar’s career decisions, pointing out that it’s not right to evaluate someone based on their hard work alone. He questioned, “Akshay is working, generating income, and providing employment opportunities for thousands of others. What issue is there?” Paresh inquired.

In a heartfelt tribute, Paresh, a longtime collaborator of Akshay in popular movies like Hera Pheri, Phir Hera Pheri, Garam Masala, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, and OMG: Oh My God, commended his friend for his diligence and integrity. Reflecting on their professional journey spanning over three decades, the two actors expressed that their friendship has deepened further with the passing of years.

In a recent statement, the actor from OMG: Oh My God clarified the nature of his friendship with Akshay. He stated emphatically that there’s no feeling of insecurity between them. He explained, “There’s no insecurity because I know I can’t do what he does, whether it’s action or being incredibly handsome.” Paresh respects Akshay for how he manages to combine professional achievements with a strong family life, referring to him as a genuine family man.
