The passing of celebrities is a singular occurrence, touching not only those who were personally acquainted with the deceased star, but also the numerous fans whose lives were impacted by their artistic endeavors. For example, Michelle Trachtenberg’s untimely death at 39 left many stunned. The loss has prompted an outpouring of tributes from her peers, with stars from her “Gossip Girl” series like Blake Lively and Chace Crawford expressing their affection for her on social media platforms.
Gossip Girl (which is streaming with a Netflix subscription) was a wildly popular show on The CW, and is also regularly re-watched via streaming services. Trachtenberg appeared as Regina Sparks in 28 episodes throughout its original run, so she got to work with the Gossip Girl cast quite a bit. Blake Lively posted a lengthy tribute on Instagram Story, check it out below:
What a lovely sentiment! Despite the ongoing legal dispute between Lively and Baldoni, she found time to express admiration for Trachtenberg’s abilities and personality in a recent post. It seems she deeply regrets not having another chance to meet Trachtenberg before her passing.
Of course, Lively isn’t the only Star of the original Gossip Girl that took to social media following Trachtenberg’s surprise passing. Chace Crawford posted a carousel of photos on his Instagram, as well as a message from the heart. Check it out:

Although Crawford has kept himself occupied, stealing scenes in “The Boys” (available for streaming with an Amazon Prime subscription), he undeniably gained widespread recognition through “Gossip Girl”. His recent post indicates the joy he experienced while interacting with the late “Buffy” co-star on set.
Taylor Momsen played Jenny Humphrey in the original Gossip Girl series, and also took to social media after learning about Michelle Trachtenberg’s death. She posted a photo of the late actress on IG Story with a short and sweet caption which reads:
One of a kind 💔
Actor Ed Westwick is perhaps best known for his tenure playing Chuck Bass on Gossip Girl. Like so many of his co-stars, he also posted on Instagram Stories about the loss of Trachtenberg. You can see his post below:

It’s evident that Trachtenberg was highly regarded and well-loved among her fellow cast members on “Gossip Girl.” Although she wasn’t a principal cast member, her time spent on set left an indelible mark. This was due not only to her acting skills but also the depth of her character.
Her collaborators on “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” also expressed their condolences and tributes to Michelle Trachtenberg in a similar manner, as did countless fans. Millennials had a shared journey with her, from “Harriet the Spy” to her mature roles, proving that we’ve lost both an exceptional talent and a kind soul.
