In the realm of superhero films, “spoilers” can sometimes play the role of the greatest antagonist. Each new Marvel production is veiled in mystery, and disclosing information about a movie before the studio is prepared to do so is nearly the worst scenario imaginable. The latest Spider-Man film, No Way Home, was one that Marvel and Sony were keen to keep under wraps, but struggled to maintain the biggest twists secret. Interestingly, two of those surprises, Charlie Cox and Andrew Garfield, almost inadvertently revealed key details themselves.
Cox officially returned to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Matt Murdock long before the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again series, via a brief appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home alongside the also-returning Garfield. In a new video shared on Instagram, Cox reveals that he and Garfield are friends, and that he looked up to his buddy when he arrived to shoot his scene. Cox said…
I arrived at a hotel in Atlanta and was preparing to step out. I decided to reach out to my friend Andrew Garfield, knowing he might be involved in the film since I’d read about it. I sent him a message, as we’re quite close. I wrote, “If the rumors are true, we’re in the same movie.” He replied, “I don’t think so, man. I’m doing Spider-Man.” To which I responded, “Well, so am I.
It has long been speculated that both Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire might make appearances in the movie Spider-Man: No Way Home. However, while Garfield may have publicly denied it, he seems not to have hesitated when confessing the truth to a friend.
As a film enthusiast, let me share an intriguing tale about two actors I admire – Cox and Garfield. While both were in Atlanta for filming, they found themselves with some free time and decided to enjoy it together. Little did they know that their casual hangout could potentially reveal crucial details about the movie.
It wasn’t until they both showed up at the same restaurant that they realized the gravity of their actions. If they were spotted together, it would not just verify Garfield’s presence but also expose Cox, creating a significant plot leak about the film. Despite the potential consequences, Cox decided to…
Upon arriving at the restaurant, we stepped inside. Then, we found ourselves in an awkward predicament as we noticed a table with only two chairs positioned against the wall. Reluctantly, we sat down, our eyes avoiding each other, feeling somewhat uncomfortable due to the setup.
Tom Holland has a reputation for inadvertently leaking spoilers, to the point where it’s turned into a running joke. If someone had managed to capture a photo of Garfield and Cox together, it would have been quite an exciting revelation. Without any explanation, people would undoubtedly believe it was genuine.

By the finale, many had anticipated, or were fairly certain, that both Charlie Cox and Andrew Garfield would make an appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Yet, it’s unfair to criticize either of them for this prediction.
