In today’s age of rereleases, movies such as Sanam Teri Kasam are earning greater profits than they did when they first premiered in theaters. Given the audience’s affection for these classic films, it seems logical to revive Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and Dil Chahta Hai for another run.
During an exclusive conversation over Zoom, Ritesh Sidhwani from Excel Entertainment and filmmaker Zoya Akhtar confirmed that the much-anticipated movie ZNMD will be hitting the big screens soon for viewers to enjoy. Moreover, they revealed that the creators plan to mark 25 years of Dil Chahta Hai with a spectacular cinematic comeback next year.
Let me jog your recollection: Dil Chahta Hai was first shown to the world on August 10, 2001. This comedy-drama movie marked Farhan Akhtar’s directorial debut. He not only directed it but also wrote the screenplay. Produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Akhtar under Excel Entertainment, the film features Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Akshaye Khanna, Preity Zinta, Sonali Kulkarni, Dimple Kapadia, among others.
The film centers on the lives of three companions, as they experience major shifts from their college years to ultimately finding stability with their chosen partners. Additionally, this movie was recognized with two awards at the 49th National Film Festival.
