In December 2024, JAY-Z filed a lawsuit against the woman identified as Jane Doe, claiming that she confessed to fabricating the rape accusations made against him.
The lawsuit, filed on March 3, alleges that Doe and her attorney Tony Buzbee are being accused of malicious prosecution, misuse of the legal process, and civil conspiracy. They are said to have exploited the court system in an attempt to tarnish the unblemished reputation of Shawn Corey Carter for financial gain. The lawsuit states that Doe and her lawyer intentionally fabricated accusations against Mr. Carter and spread these false claims through various media outlets, causing widespread harm to his reputation. Their actions were deliberate and aimed at maximizing the damage to Mr. Carter’s reputation in order to extort him for money.
In a clear and deliberate manner, attorneys for Mr. Carter stated that he is not taking this action lightly. However, they emphasized that the extortion and mistreatment of Mr. Carter by Doe and her legal team need to cease immediately.
It’s said that Doe initially claimed she was pushed by her attorney to accuse the rapper, but later admitted directly to his team that the accusations were false and malicious. The lawsuit states, “Doe has now voluntarily admitted to representatives of Mr. Carter that the story presented in court and on television was fabricated.” However, it remains unclear when this confession supposedly took place. The suit also suggests that Buzbee, not Mr. Carter, pressured her to perpetuate the false narrative of assault by Mr. Carter for financial gain.
Additionally, JAY-Z and his legal team assert that Buzbee made threats against them if Doe’s “confession” was disclosed. They claim that he would publicly accuse JAY-Z of harassing Doe, and that the reason she withdrew her lawsuit was due to fear for her own safety.
Therefore, the ongoing threats of blackmail and slander persist, compelling Mr. Carter to act in order to shield himself from unethical individuals who might exploit him any further,” Jay-Z’s legal team explained.
As a gamer, I’d rephrase it like this: “I’m setting the record straight – the claims against JAY-Z are bogus, plain and simple. Shawn Carter’s investigators have been hounding this woman for weeks, using threats and intimidation in an attempt to make her change her story. This case is nothing but a sham with no legal basis.
I carried on saying, “She won’t back down. On the contrary, she has consistently asserted her commitment to her statements. The same investigators have been caught red-handed trying to bribe people to sue me and my company, which is yet another underhand tactic aimed at harassing and intimidating this innocent woman. We will handle this situation appropriately in time.
In 2000, following the MTV Video Music Awards, it was claimed that Doe alleged both Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs had drugged and sexually assaulted her when she was just 13 years old. However, Jay-Z repeatedly denied these accusations, and unexpectedly, in mid-February 2025, the accuser chose to withdraw her lawsuit.
