Robert Pattinson has no desire to play an old Batman.
The actor, who played Batman in Matt Reeves’ 2022 hit movie “The Batman”, shared some updates about the upcoming sequel during an interview with his co-star from “Mickey 17”, Naomi Ackie, for “Hero” magazine.
Pattinson jokingly replied, ‘I certainly hope so,’ when asked about reprising his role as the superhero soon. ‘From playing the young Batman, I might just become the mature Batman by the time of the sequel.’
The actor from Twilight, who is 38 years old, said, ‘I might be old,’ but then quickly clarified, ‘However, I’m in good health. In fact, I believe I’ve managed to lower my biological age a bit.’
The follow-up to “The Batman” movie has been in the works for quite a while, with filming anticipated to commence around July 2025. Due to repeated delays, it’s now forecasted to debut in cinemas during October 2027.
Although the upcoming sequel isn’t tied to the DC universe that James Gunn and his collaborator Peter Safran are constructing, it was previously disclosed that the postponement stemmed from Reeves refining the script to perfection.
Matt shared on Threads in December that he’s fully dedicated to creating the finest film possible, and it’s challenging to predict precisely how long a screenplay will take to compose. After a script is finalized, approximately two years are typically allocated for pre-production, filming, and post-production in major productions.
Later on, Gunn clarified the delay by stating, “It’s quite usual for sequels to have a gap of five years or more.
After the premiere of “The Batman” in 2022, the movie achieved both critical acclaim and financial success, earning over $772 million globally at the box office.
