When you consider the Fast & Furious movies, I’d venture to guess that Gossip Girl hasn’t crossed your mind simultaneously. Although I enjoy both tremendously, I can affirm that they haven’t been paired in my thoughts. That being said, all of that changed when I watched the English-language adaptation of Prime Video’s Culpa Mia, titled My Fault: London, because it blends the thrilling world of Vin Diesel’s high-speed franchise with the dramatic intrigue of the Gossip Girl series in an incredibly chaotic yet delightful manner.
Allow me to clarify, even though the initial comparison might seem unconventional, it’s relevant for the movie we’re discussing – “My Fault: London”, now available on Amazon Prime. This film is a gripping, intense, passionate romance, with a backdrop of high-speed automobiles. I hope this explanation helps you understand the connection.
To clarify, if you haven’t already figured it out, I’ll elaborate on why the movie “My Fault: London” is essentially a blend of the high-speed action from “Fast & Furious” and the dramatic romance and social life of “Gossip Girl”.
Why My Fault: London Gives Fast & Furious Energy
I can’t believe I’m writing this, but My Fault: London has big Fast & Furious vibes.

Viewers are highly enthusiastic about Netflix’s latest romantic comedy, La Dolce Villa. However, don’t miss out on the popular Valentine’s weekend release from Amazon.
In my viewpoint, I found myself captivated by a tale that unfolds in the realm of illicit street racing – a world fraught with violence and drama. At its heart are two step-siblings who, as fate would have it, discover an unexpected affection for one another amidst the chaos.
I must say, there’s a definite kinship between Noah and Nick, both being skilled behind the wheel. Sharing their passion for automobiles, they’re like characters straight out of a Fast & Furious movie.
What truly made the comparison work for me was the large (and sometimes comically exaggerated) actions. With the massive action sequence at the climax and the genuinely epic races running consistently throughout, it reminded me of my first time watching The Fast & The Furious. I mean that as a positive comment.
So, yeah, that’s where the Fast & Furious energy comes from.

My Fault: London Is Gossip Girl Coded In One Way I Love And Another Way I Hate
Moving on to the heart of the matter, “My Fault: London” showcases two primary aspects that resonate with “Gossip Girl”, and one of them leaves me feeling displeased, whereas the other captures my affection.
Let’s start with the bad. I’m sorry, but why is this romance centered around step-siblings?
I must confess, I’ve always found “Gossip Girl” captivating, and I believe its popularity was well-deserved. However, the storyline involving Dan and Serena, who were central characters, became rather predictable when you consider their parents, Rufus and Lily, were entangled in a similar romance. It’s generally seen as problematic when children are romantically involved while their parents are doing the same, leading to plenty of drama on the show.
In a different phrase, “My Fault: London” pushes the problematic trope even more. The story starts with Nick and Noah’s parents getting engaged upon meeting, only for the children to later fall in love. Frankly, this wasn’t appropriate on “Gossip Girl,” and it certainly isn’t acceptable now.
Nevertheless, much like how one might disregard a minor plot issue in “Gossip Girl”, I find myself easily overlooking this aspect in “My Fault: London”. This is primarily due to the electrifying chemistry between the film’s main characters and their captivating romance, which is hard to resist.
Without a doubt, the connection between Matthew Broome as Nick and Asha Banks as Noah is electrifying! Although their route to becoming a couple might not have been ideal, I wholeheartedly trust their feelings for one another. It’s couples like Chuck and Blair that come to mind – they were undeniably toxic, but their chemistry kept me hooked on Gossip Girl. Their relationship is the kind that keeps viewers intrigued.
I found myself drawn to both “London Confidential” and “Gossip Girl”, despite moments that made me wince. The electrifying romances in each series were captivating enough to overcome those instances.
In summary, all three options provide an enjoyable and thrilling experience. If you’re in search of some exhilarating, dramatic, or action-packed entertainment, consider streaming “Gossip Girl” with a Max subscription or the “Fast & Furious” series with a Peacock subscription. For those who prefer a mix of both, “My Fault: London” on Prime Video might be the perfect choice for you.
