The depicted steelbook up ahead will undoubtedly catch attention on any shelf due to its front image showcasing Heath Ledger’s character from the movie, all set for a fierce steel-on-steel battle in medieval armor, wielding his sword with confidence. Accompanying him on the reverse side are other cast members, such as Jocelyn, portrayed by Shannyn Sossamon who was Thatcher’s love interest in the film. Inside the casing lies the excitement of one of the movie’s popular jousting tournaments.
‘A Knight’s Tale’ Is a Real Rags-to-Riches Story
Approximately 25 years have passed since “A Knight’s Tale” was first screened in cinemas, and it continues to be admired by many, despite initially receiving mixed reviews from critics. This film cleverly combines action, romance, and humor to create a moving narrative that revolves around William Thatcher, a peasant squire who poses as a knight and captivates the jousting world (as well as moviegoers since the film earned $117.5 million globally against a production budget of $65 million).
Over time, the movie “A Knight’s Tale” has gained more fans, especially since it became accessible on streaming services. You can now rent, buy, or stream it on multiple platforms, including Paramount+. Last year, director Brian Helgeland proposed a sequel to this beloved comedy to Netflix in April. Unfortunately, Netflix declined the project after running it through their algorithm and deciding that it might not generate enough success to warrant production costs. As a result, viewers can only enjoy one installment of the knight’s chivalrous story for now.
The 4K Blu-ray Steelbook of A Knight’s Tale will be released on May 20, 2025.
