Woke is on the run, but it’s far from defeated.
President Donald Trump, aided by key allies such as Christopher Rufo and Robby Starbuck, is leading an effort to reclaim cultural ground from the far-left movement that has been influential for some time.
We can still see woke elements in plain sight, including the Oscars’ red carpet broadcast.
Famous host, Julianne Hough from “Dancing with the Stars,” made a “land acknowledgment” during her broadcast on Sunday.

Today, we come together to celebrate the Oscars, held on the original territories of the Tongva, Tataviam, and Chumash tribes – the long-standing guardians of these waters and lands. We acknowledge and express our gratitude to indigenous communities, both here locally and globally.
Social media mockery ensued, and rightly so.
The host of HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher” took that ribbing to a new, necessary level.
Bill Maher, although known as a liberal, is one of the toughest critics of ‘wokeness’. In his criticism on Friday night, it’s clear he was thinking about politics when evaluating Hough’s remarks.
His main takeaway? She’s far from alone in sharing the land acknowledgement charade.
He started with a blast of common sense.
‘I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again—either give the land back or shut the f up!’
Maher made it a tad personal next.
It’s clear that Julianne Hough genuinely cares for the Chumash people, however, it seems unlikely that she commutes to work in a canoe, survives by gathering acorns, or resides in a dwelling constructed from reeds and dried earth.
He then cut to the heart of the matter.
He posed a question: “Could we please move past the notion that ancient individuals were any more immoral than modern humans? This idea that being ancient or Indigenous was inherently superior to us? It wasn’t… The Māori prior to colonial times, much like other indigenous societies, were often warlike, engaging in frequent conflicts between tribes. Victors would enslave the vanquished, and in some cases, consume them as food.
He posted the HBO segment on X with a dire warning to his fellow Democrats.
As a supporter, I’d like to humbly suggest that if Democrats aim to taste victory once more in elections, the crucial initial action would be to reconsider and refrain from certain practices.
One of his followers put a fine point on Maher’s argument.
Can’t win elections if you’re dying on the 20% side of the 80/20 issues

Maher strongly dislikes President Donald Trump and seems determined to consistently vote for Democratic candidates. Moreover, he perceives the party as taking on an exaggerated or distorted form.
He employs his platform, often referred to as “Real Time,” to alert progressive peers about potential political hazards associated with sticking to contentious issues that receive 80% support among them but only 20% among their opponents.
Think allowing trans women to compete against biological women in sports.
During President Trump’s second term, Democrats have found themselves in awkward situations on multiple issues, one of which being the embarrassing “Choose Your Fighter” meme.
Democrats, who are said to be particularly critical of Trump, create a satirical video titled “Pick Your Champion” following their decision not to applaud or stand for a child with cancer during President Trump’s speech to Congress.
Democrats have sunk so low that I’m actually starting to feel sorry for them.

Even far-Left host Jimmy Kimmel torched it.
They’d be wise to consider Maher’s warning before the midterm elections arrive.
