It‘s surprising that NBC’s well-known medical drama series ER marked its 30th anniversary just a year ago. During this time, one of the show’s stars, Julianna Margulies, disclosed in a discussion that she and her fellow star, George Clooney – another notable figure from the show – continue to sign their personal emails with their characters’ names from ER: Carol and Doug. More recently, MovieWeb had an opportunity to chat with Margulies as she was promoting her current project, and during this conversation, the Emmy-winning actress spoke more about her longstanding friendship with Clooney and what they have been doing lately.

Margulies shared with us that he’s currently in New York, having just wrapped up a Broadway performance and with another actor starting rehearsals. He attended the show a few weeks back, and they exchange emails almost daily due to the fact that the other actor hasn’t been on stage for some time, while Margulies had recently finished his run. I’m offering him guidance and ensuring he’s taking care of himself, as it takes courage to perform on stage. It’s not mandatory for him to do a play, but he’s doing it anyway, which I find commendable. So yes, I’m proud – even though it might sound strange to say so.” Margulies added.

I’ve known this individual for an extended period. He feels more like my brother, which is why I take great pride in his accomplishments. He chose the challenging path, refusing to settle and rest on his laurels. Performing live carries a significant risk, and he took that chance. Given his high-profile status, it takes even more courage for him to step onto the stage compared to me. Therefore, I am extremely proud of him, and we frequently communicate.

I found the writing on ‘The Good Wife’ exceptional and deeply influential over seven years of my life. As a result, my expectations are quite high. Consequently, if a script doesn’t meet that standard, it’s challenging for me to commit to a project. However, when I absolutely adore a script, it becomes effortless for me to agree to a project.
