Windy City Rehab’s Alison Victoria Renovated Her Chicago ‘Dream’ Home. Now She’s Selling It For Millions

For many individuals, the aspiration of owning a house remains deeply cherished, with numerous homeowners content with acquiring an acceptable dwelling and making minor improvements. Conversely, there are personalities like Alison Victoria from HGTV, who buy properties primarily to carry out extensive renovations. Following her significant overhaul of her “dream” residence in Chicago, the Windy City Rehab specialist has opted to sell it for a hefty sum of money.

What Did Windy City Rehab’s Alison Victoria Say About Selling Her Chicago Dream Home?

During the summer of 2023, viewers got to see Alison Victoria, host of Windy City Rehab, switch from beach photoshoots to gritty renovation work in her spinoff series, Windy City Rehab: Alison’s Dream Home. This show documented her transformation of a 1927 warehouse into her personal dream house. After successfully completing this big project and enjoying it for some time, she has now announced that she is selling it for $2.9 million as she spoke with Us Weekly. She mentioned:

In awe of the grandeur of a 7,000 square foot abode, it felt like a luxurious dream come true. Yet, amidst its vastness, I found myself yearning for companionship and a sense of community, making it feel quite isolating. Conscious of my frequent work travels that left me seldom at home to truly savor the space, I made the decision to downsize and seek a living environment more in harmony with my lifestyle.

In simpler terms, since my house is quite small (under 1,000 square feet), I had no idea what a large space like that of a Barbie Dreamhouse Challenge star looked like, even before seeing it on her show. However, let me tell you, it’s incredibly spacious! And just as anyone who watches her transform properties around her city would expect, it’s not only massive but also as creatively beautiful as one could imagine.

Victoria, who had previously navigated numerous legal disputes surrounding her popular series, had purchased the property long ago. Over time, she utilized it as both her workspace and design studio. The place held such charm for her that transforming it into a residence seemed like an excellent plan. In her own words, “I thought turning it into a home was a fantastic idea.

Over the years, I’ve cherished my office and design space, which I once called my own property. It was more than just a workplace; it sparked countless dreams of transforming it into someone’s dream home. And when the chance finally came to make that dream a reality, I couldn’t have been more thrilled! In fact, I found myself spending every waking moment there, so enamored was I with its perfect blend of convenience and luxury. Indeed, having everything you could possibly desire all in one location made it incredibly hard to leave.

After the show’s premiere, she referred to the house as “the most sexually appealing design I’ve ever created.” However, she also acknowledged that the renovation project had left a significant dent in her finances. To top it off, she owed two friends approximately $400,000, which she borrowed to fund additional features like a year-round courtyard reminiscent of Versailles, a gym, theater, bar, and heated marble herringbone floors in the bathroom, in order to complete the project according to her vision.

Regrettably, despite completing a home renovation project showcased on numerous occasions, the star found that, although the property had everything she desired or required, its lack of personal time spent there made it an unsuitable fit for her lifestyle. Here’s hoping another individual can appreciate and utilize this beautiful home now.
