This means we might get to see Foggy again in future Marvel TV productions. Now, let’s discuss potential ways this comeback could unfold.
Foggy Could Return Via The Multiverse
In recent Marvel productions, the multiverse has taken center stage and seems set to remain so. While Daredevil was known for its gritty realism during its Netflix era, we’ve seen its characters venture into more supernatural scenarios. For instance, Kingpin’s remarkable durability in Hawkeye and Matt’s romantic involvement with She-Hulk suggest a shift towards the fantastical. It’s plausible to assume that this series will explore the multiverse, which could pave the way for Foggy Nelson’s grand comeback.
In different universes, there are numerous Foggys, all equally capable of stepping into the role left vacant by the deceased Foggy. Who knows? Perhaps there’s a Foggy who transformed into a superhero, offering the support we desperately need right now. However, if we consider the storylines, it could be plausible that this universe shares similarities, and having Foggy from the original series appear in the new one would serve to link the two shows together in a way I find intriguing.
Foggy Could Return Via Flashbacks
In a regular TV series devoid of superheroes and extraordinary events, it’s most likely that Foggy’s reappearance is through flashbacks or dreams, as in reality, people don’t come back after death. Instead, if he were to reappear, it would have to be in such a manner.
Although this theory seems reasonable, I’m not fully convinced due to several factors. The challenge of grasping the continuity between the current series and its predecessor, which has certain unexplained oddities, makes stepping back in time a bit tricky. I’m unsure if additional flashbacks are necessary given the extensive lore already established across three seasons, but it could be an option.
It seems that if it boils down to the choice between vague flashbacks or excluding Foggy altogether from the series, I’d prefer the former. To be honest, I worry about the complexity of integrating more flashbacks given all the details we’ve already gleaned from the original series. However, considering the exceptional quality of the two-episode premiere for Daredevil: Born Again, the writers certainly deserve our trust.
Foggy Could Be Brought Back Via Marvel’s Various Resurrection Methods
It’s a fact that in superhero stories, characters seldom remain deceased permanently. If Hulk can rise from being exposed to gamma radiation into an almost indestructible entity, then there must be multiple methods for Foggy Nelson to resurface after death.
As a film critic, I was taken aback by the striking similarity between the Rotten Tomatoes critics and audience scores for Daredevil: Born Again. However, my personal enthusiasm falls short when comparing it to the original series.
In simpler terms, while many seem to love the sequel, I can’t help but miss the charm of the original Daredevil show.
In the show “Daredevil: Born Again”, the criminal gang that holds the magic elixir known as The Hand hasn’t shown up yet. However, considering Wilson Fisk’s potential power play in New York and his new status as an elected official, it’s likely we’ll see them soon.
As a film enthusiast, I must admit that the prospect of Foggy Nelson being resurrected by The Hand leaves me puzzled. If they were aware of Matt Murdock’s identity as Daredevil, their motive might be clearer. However, given my understanding, they may not be privy to this secret, which makes me question if they’d go to such lengths to revive Foggy. I’m not dismissing the possibility that The Hand could uncover the truth, but a convincing reason for resurrecting Foggy would need to be presented to assuage my skepticism.
It’s important to note that there are multiple methods to resurrect a character in the Marvel universe besides using magic potions. For instance, it could be possible that the deceased Foggy was actually a Skrull imposter and the genuine Foggy is still alive somewhere else. Or maybe Matt Murdock (Daredevil) can travel back in time to retrieve another Foggy from the past and transport him to the present.
In simpler terms, by referencing various instances in previous Marvel films where similar events occurred, it’s clear that there are numerous possibilities for resurrecting Foggy Nelson. The Disney+ series could potentially introduce a unique method and fans would likely embrace it as long as it aligns with the Marvel universe. Frankly, I wouldn’t mind if the explanation was a bit convoluted; I just want Foggy back so that Karen and Matt can stop their squabble. The unexpected turn at the start of the new series added depth, but now I’m eager to see my favorite trio reunited again.
