Playing Marvel Rivals Unranked is a Pretty Good Time

Due to its engaging gameplay mechanics, captivating character aesthetics, and the inclusion of the Fantastic Four, Marvel Rivals continues to reign supreme as the premier superhero shooting game. Overwatch 2 is maintaining its position with the LE SSERAFIM collaboration generating buzz, but there’s no denying that Marvel Rivals holds the crown in this category.

Rather than focusing solely on climbing the ranks to compete at a high level, some players might find that unranked games offer an underestimated gaming experience.

To clarify, I’m not very skilled at competitive Rivals play and aiming to improve, as colloquially expressed by some, can be challenging, particularly when going up against more experienced players, especially those with healers on their team. It’s important to note that my own team members could have performed better as well. On a different note, I had a great game once with a dedicated friend of mine.

Instead, the frustrations are significantly reduced when I opt for casual Marvel Rivals gameplay rather than ranked matches. The sensation of defeat is less intense now that there’s no scoreboard reminding me of my performance. Interestingly, I find myself feeling more self-assured during unranked games and even managed to secure the MVP title on Squirrel Girl, surprisingly enough.

As a gaming enthusiast, it brings me joy to see Marvel characters I adore, beautifully rendered in this captivating art style. Watching these legendary figures and antagonists clash in an expansive arena feels like reliving childhood moments where I’d combine action figures – it’s exhilarating! This game has even managed to win over heroes I never thought I’d appreciate, and now Luna Snow stands amongst my favorites.

There are numerous advantages to participating in the ranked play of Marvel Rivals, and I feel I should enhance my skills in this particular mode. Players engaged in these competitive settings not only encounter tougher fights but also receive enjoyable prizes. Invisible Woman has even received a stylish alternative color for reaching a specific rank, which makes me inclined to give it a try every now and then.

As a gamer, here’s my take: I’m really hoping that the next Season Pass will feature some skins that catch my eye because, honestly, the current one isn’t doing it for me. Now, don’t get me wrong, there are some pretty awesome costumes in this pass, but none of them suit my main characters, so the wait goes on. However, I can’t help but be impressed by the way Wolverine is portrayed as an older cowboy – it totally gives off Old Man Logan vibes!

Despite the fact that I may never excel at competitive play with Marvel Rivals, given my skills, it’s a game that holds a cherished spot in my gaming heart, and unranked play will continue to be my go-to. Truth be told, hero shooters usually don’t resonate much with me, but the appeal of this title, especially the variety of skins on display, has been an unexpected delight.

Long story short: get good noob and enjoy casual play.
