The James Bond series finds itself in uncharted waters following Amazon’s acquisition, calling for an exceptional newcomer to step into the iconic role of 007 and guide the series through this fresh chapter. Although Aaron Taylor-Johnson (from Kraven the Hunter), Theo James (The Gentlemen) and Henry Cavill (former Superman) are still frontrunners, James Bond aficionado and devotee Graham Rye believes that an as-yet unrecognized actor is the ideal candidate for the job.
007 Magazine’s editor, Rye, has recently voiced his support for a relatively unknown Scottish actor, famed for his roles in ‘Miss Scarlet’ and Zack Snyder’s ‘Rebel Moon’, as the ideal candidate to revive the James Bond franchise. In an interview with GBNews, Rye elaborated…
At present, there seems to be just one performer who could truly capture this role. He hails from Scotland, and his name is Stuart Martin.
I’ve been thrilled to see my opportunities skyrocket lately, with Rye comparing me not just to any James Bond actor, but specifically to the iconic original. He even went so far as to say that I could embody 007 in a way reminiscent of Sean Connery, which is a dream come true for any fan like myself.
Is Stuart Martin the Right Choice To Take On the 007 Mantle?
Stuart Martin is primarily known for his roles in various Zack Snyder productions such as “Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire”, “Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver”, “Army of Thieves”, and the animated series “Twilight of the Gods”. Apart from Snyder, Martin has also appeared in productions like the period drama “Miss Scarlet”, the horror film “Dampyr”, and this year’s critically acclaimed drama “Surviving Earth”. The actor has several upcoming television projects lined up, including the thriller series “Atomic” and the action-packed show “In Flight”.
Martin’s chances of landing the role of James Bond have significantly increased following endorsements by a prominent Los Angeles film advisor with ties to the James Bond series. It’s been whispered among industry insiders that “Stuart” is being considered for the role, and he’s reportedly a strong contender. However, it’s important to note that no official confirmation has been given due to Eon Productions’ secretive nature when it comes to casting matters. If Stuart were to be chosen, it would mark a remarkable milestone as Scotland hasn’t produced a 007 since the early days of the franchise.
As we wait for more information about Amazon’s plans for James Bond and who will replace Daniel Craig after his final appearance in “No Time to Die” in 2021, many past Bond actors have shared their thoughts on the series’ significant transition.
Pierce Brosnan, hinting at a possible reprisal of his role as an older version of the famous secret agent, stated that Bond should undoubtedly remain British. He also expressed that letting go requires courage, but they will still have some control over decisions. He hopes that Amazon, responsible for this project, treats the work and character with grace, creativity, and respect. Meanwhile, another former Bond, Timothy Dalton, voiced his disappointment with the change, acknowledging Barbara Broccoli as one of the best in the industry, but mentioning that too many opinions around a Bond movie can make it less unique. However, if the right people are in charge, the outcome should improve.
Pierce Brosnan suggested he might play an older version of James Bond again, and thinks Bond should stay British. He also said letting go takes courage, but they’ll still have input. He hopes Amazon handles it well. Timothy Dalton was a bit sad about the change, but thinks Barbara Broccoli is great, stating that too many opinions can ruin a Bond movie, but if the right people are in charge, it will be good.
