Are you able to decipher her expressionless countenance now? She’s adept at reading yours, too, and as Natasha Lyonne reappears in Season 2 of Poker Face, she’ll be reading a multitude of others. With Tony Tost steering the ship, Season 2 launches on Peacock from May 8, 2025, with three episodes initially available and subsequent episodes streaming weekly. This season offers an additional two episodes compared to Season 1, amounting to a total of twelve. The plotline remains the same: Poker Face is a series revolving around a mystery-of-the-week format featuring Natasha Lyonne as Charlie, who has an uncanny knack for discerning when someone is being dishonest. As she travels in her Plymouth Barracuda, she encounters diverse groups of characters and bizarre crimes that she finds herself compelled to resolve.
In the new season of the series, we’ve escalated Charlie Cale’s escapades as she solves one intricate murder mystery after another. From the realm of minor league baseball to the vast expanse of big box retail, from solemn funeral homes to alligator farms and even a school talent show, Charlie embarks on her crime-solving, existential road trip, using her unique blend of dry humor, compassionate understanding of people, and exceptional lie-detecting skills.
To breathe life into Season 2, we drew visual influences from the American cinema of the ’70s, such as films by Robert Altman, Bob Rafelson, Peter Bogdanovich. However, the core structure of this series is reminiscent of television – the kind we remember fondly from our childhood: episodic shows like Columbo, The Rockford Files, and Quantum Leap. Each episode stands alone as a mini-movie, set in its own distinct world with a specific mood and atmosphere. A diverse array of characters, portrayed by an assortment of guest stars, add to the show’s unique flavor.
It’s hard to believe we collaborated with amazing talents such as Cynthia Erivo, Katie Holmes, John Mulaney, and Awkwafina (and numerous others, the list is quite overwhelming) who enthusiastically joined our project. Get ready for twelve thrilling new episodes! Fasten your seatbelts and join us on this exciting journey!
