Alex Cooper‘s Unwell Networks is expanding.
The podcaster behind the popular show “Call Her Daddy“, Cooper, has secured her initial unscripted series on Hulu. Titled “Overboard for Love“, this distinctive dating program promises an exciting new take on romantic pursuits.
Embark on a voyage of opulence aboard the most lavish yacht, where attractive singletons eagerly mingle for love and camaraderie. However, securing entry to this yacht’s lavish facilities won’t be straightforward. As events unfold, passion blossoms; friendships are forged; and hearts will break. In the end, just one couple will emerge victorious. Who will rise above the rest, and who will find themselves left behind?
In August 2023, Cooper initiated the Unwell Network, initially recruiting Alix Earle and Madeline Argy. Later on, Harry Jowsey, Owen Thiele, Hallie Batchelder, and Grace O’Malley were also brought aboard. However, Earle was recently removed from the network.
Cooper expressed his immense joy in a statement, as he announced that Unwell Productions’ inaugural unscripted series, “Overboard for Love“, is about to debut in partnership with Hulu. This development represents a significant achievement for us, encapsulating our mission to produce daring, uncensored content that transcends boundaries. We’ve crafted an exceptionally unique dating show, and I eagerly anticipate the moment when viewers can witness the capabilities of Unwell Productions.
In an October cover story for The Hollywood Reporter, Cooper expressed her aspirations for Unwell, stating that she wanted to “establish this company.” She further explained, “It’s astonishing what we’ve achieved in just a year, from selling out seven cities on tour, to organizing micro events that have united thousands of women, and developing the Unwell brand so that I can throw a party without even having to be there. My aim is to become the world’s foremost content creator.
Alongside her husband Matt Kaplan and Mina Lefevre, Cooper will also serve as an executive producer for the series at Unwell. Furthermore, Jeff Jenkins, Russell Jay-Staglik, and Jason Ehrlich from Jeff Jenkins Productions, along with Ross Weintraub and Reinout Oerlemans from 3BMG, are also involved as producers in the project.
The earlier version of this article incorrectly stated that Cooper served as the host for the show. However, her role is actually as an executive producer.
