Veteran Bollywood star Govinda is celebrated for delivering remarkable performances in movies that still resonate strongly with audiences today. In a conversation with Mukesh Khanna on his YouTube channel Bheeshm International, Govinda discussed a contentious matter from his past that garnered attention. The actor described his nine-year-long court case involving an altercation as “fortunate” for him. Elaborating on the incident, the actor from Partner explained that there was inappropriate behavior towards a female colleague on set, which led to his outburst and physical response against the offender.
In time, the individual chose to bring a lawsuit against the actor, demanding an unreserved apology. This legal matter persisted for nine years when one of his acquaintances advised him to conduct an undercover operation on the accused, capturing their conversations. Eventually, the prominent Bollywood actor asserted that Santosh referred to himself as a ‘Rakshas’ (Devil) and addressed the Raja Babu actor as ‘Ishwar’ (God). He also disclosed, “The man requested 3-4 crores from me to withdraw the case. I secretly recorded our conversation and submitted it as evidence in court.
Govinda went on to disclose that during that period, numerous women advised him against continuing any inappropriate actions with the man and urged him to show respect. “It was clear that no one was on my side,” said the star of Coolie No.1, adding emphatically, “Those who had been propped up by me were now turning against me, attempting to undermine me.
Following several years of legal battles, the high-profile case involving Govinda came to a close in 2017 when he issued a written apology to his fan. It was reported at the time that the man did not demand any financial recompense from the Bollywood actor.
