Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Heartwarming Tribute to Danny DeVito: Friendship Goals!

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito’s remarkable camaraderie in the 1988 heartwarming comedy masterpiece “Twins” (available for streaming with a Netflix subscription) has left an indelible impression, solidifying them as lifelong companions. Over the years, their friendship has flourished and endured, withstanding the test of time, and they’ve supported each other through various milestones, such as recent collaborations on Broadway and at the Oscars. In a touching gesture, the former California governor paid tribute to his long-standing fictional twin during the Roundabout Gala, and their friendship continues to shine brightly.

The Terminator star shared on his Instagram a collection of photos of the old co-stars at the annual event on stage warmly embracing each other. Along with the joint snapshots, several photos show Schwarzenegger giving his speech, with all the visuals accompanied by this sweet caption:

Last night, I got the chance to catch my brother (Danny DeVito) off-guard and assist in presenting him with the Robards Award for Outstanding Achievement in Theatre at [Roundabout Theatre Company]. Despite a long day of filming and having to quickly slip into a coat and rush on stage, it was essential for me to attend, as he truly deserves recognition.

If there’s anything more symbolic of a strong friendship than this, I’m not sure what it could be. A friend who works all day and then goes out of their way for a special event to celebrate a buddy, boosting his spirits, is someone I appreciate. It shows just how close they are if they mention having to dress up for the occasion – that’s a sign of true camaraderie.

The actor who played Matilda has been a cherished luminary in Hollywood during his extended and vibrant career, with It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia Season 17 being his upcoming highly anticipated venture. Currently, it seems that DeVito might persuade his burly friend to appear as a guest star on the FXX comedy for what could be a distasteful cameo.

As a movie enthusiast, let me share my thoughts about a recent show that has left quite an impression – “Abbott Elementary”. The young cast’s uncontainable excitement over Danny DeVito, who shares ties with the popular sandwich chain, Jersey Mike’s, adds an extra layer of charm to the series.

Currently, there’s only one thing on DeVito’s horizon – Season 17 of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Yet, this announcement brings a glimmer of hope for a reunion with the Ivan Reitman sequel, “Triplets”.

The death of Ivan Reitman, the original director of “Twins”, has put a temporary halt on the long-awaited sequel. It’s a sad reality that we must accept, but as a fan, I can’t help but imagine what could have been if production had continued.

Despite the uncertainty about a possible reunion of the Benedict brothers, it would be heartwarming to witness the two, known for their comedic antics, growing closer as family members. Meanwhile, diving into familial ties again, Arthur (Arnold Schwarzenegger’s character in Commando)’s real-life son, Patrick Schwarzenegger, has joined the cast of White Lotus season 3. The joy over his involvement on Mike White’s production is undeniable, but I must admit, the excessive hype surrounding Patrick’s nude scene in White Lotus might have been a bit too much, at least from my perspective.

Even so, it’s interesting to know that Arnold Schwarzenegger holds family and friends like DeVito in high regard. It would be lovely if he could reciprocate the kindness someday by writing something heartfelt for his “Twins” co-star.
