Don’t Sleep on This Fallout-Inspired Survival Game

This upcoming March promises to be an action-packed and thrilling experience for gaming enthusiasts, as they eagerly await not one, but two highly anticipated titles: Assassin’s Creed Shadows and WWE 2K25, among several other exciting releases.

On March 27th, when Atomfall is set to launch, initial signs point towards this game being one that should not be ignored.

Originating from the creators behind Sniper Elite and Strange Brigade, Atomfall represents a first-person survival-action title that draws inspiration from actual incidents, being positioned five years following the Windscale nuclear accident in the northern region of England.

In the game Atomfall, players embark on a journey to uncover the hidden truth about the events at Windscale. This investigation won’t be easy, as they’ll face off against the British military, lethal robots, cultists, and strange creatures – just a few of the challenges you’ll encounter along the way.

With the launch date rapidly approaching, early feedback on Atomfall has been overwhelmingly favorable, as critics and players alike shower it with accolades for its enigmatic narrative, captivating environment, engaging combat system, and chilling ambiance.

One more factor that makes Atomfall intriguing is that its lead designer, Ben Fisher, confessed it draws some inspiration from Fallout: New Vegas.

When talking to TheGamer, Fisher explained that the storyline (of New Vegas) predominantly revolves around this crucial place and the occurrences taking place there. Additionally, every character you encounter is intriguing, offering unique insights about this focal point.

In Atomfall, it becomes increasingly evident that the game draws inspiration from Fallout, as players can eliminate any character within the game.

Fisher elaborated on the question posed: “How does it play out if we fully embrace the rebellious cultural DNA of providing players with freedom and openness in ‘Rebellion’?” He proposed, “What if we simply allow them to eliminate everyone? Even if they create barriers for themselves, that’s acceptable. It aligns with their playstyle.

Apart from Fallout, other games like S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and Far Cry have also been compared to Atomfall. Frankly, those comparisons alone make me want to grab Atomfall and see for myself what it’s all about.

It seems highly likely that this will turn out to be a pleasant surprise for gamers; here’s hoping it lives up to expectations.

The game titled “Atomfall” will debut on Game Pass simultaneously, offering playability on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and personal computers (PC) from the get-go.
