On Thursday, it was announced that Oasis will be releasing a movie to go along with their much-awaited reunion tour, as revealed by Sony Music.
According to Sony, the director of “Peaky Blinders”, Steven Knight, is set to produce an upcoming film. The movie will be helmed by directors Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace. These two have previously worked on the documentary titled “Meet Me in the Bathroom“, which focused on the New York rock scene of the 2000s, as well as “Shut Up and Play the Hits“, a film about LCD Soundsystem.
As of now, a launch date for the movie hasn’t been announced, Sony stated. The distribution of the film will be handled by Sony Music Vision. Magna Studios, known for projects like ‘Beastie Boys Story’ and ‘Lewis Capaldi: How I’m Feeling Now’, is in charge of its production.
In a more conversational tone:
We don’t know when the movie will be out yet, Sony told us. They’ll be handling the distribution. Magna Studios, who’ve made ‘Beastie Boys Story’ and ‘Lewis Capaldi: How I’m Feeling Now’, are producing it.
For quite some time, Liam and Noel Gallagher have had a tumultuous bond, leading to great excitement for Oasis’ tour in 2025, as it marks their first performances since their split in 2009 at a concert in Paris. The band announced their reunion on X (previously Twitter) last August with the statement, “This is it, this is actually happening.
Oasis begins their tour in Wales this coming July, followed by performances across England, Scotland, and Ireland. The tour starts its North American leg in Toronto and includes stops at Soldier Field in Chicago, the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, and Metlife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. After two shows in Mexico City, they’ll finish the U.S. part of the tour before returning to England for more performances. The tour will then continue with shows in South Korea, Japan, Australia, Argentina, Chile, and Brazil.
It’s challenging to get tickets for the concerts because the band is employing a system where tickets sold at face value can’t be resold by scalpers, who often inflate prices on secondary markets. The band advises fans to buy tickets exclusively from Ticketmaster or their authorized resellers. They’ve made it clear that any tickets purchased elsewhere may be invalidated.
