As Aamir turns 60 today, March 14, let’s look back at a heartfelt disclosure where he spoke about maintaining regular weekly meetings with both of his ex-wives, Reena Dutta and Kiran Rao.
On the talk show “Koffee With Karan 7” hosted by Karan Johar in 2022, Aamir Khan discussed aspects of his personal life, particularly his past relationships with his former wives, Reena Dutta and Kiran Rao.
During our conversation, the filmmaker confided that their bond remains friendly, stressing that despite their divorce, they continue to view each other as family. Even though their marriage is over, he made it clear that there’s still a deep sense of love and concern between them.
Every week, regardless of our schedules, we gather as one. There’s an abundance of sincere concern, affection, and regard that binds us, as Aamir Khan pointed out on the program.
Additionally, he stated, “I hold great admiration and esteem for both of them; we’ll forever remain as one big family.” He also pointed out that his former wives are truly remarkable individuals, explaining the lack of acrimony in their shared history.
Reflecting on the past, I can’t help but wish I had invested more time with each one of them, sacrificing my work if necessary. Yet, at that moment in time, my heart belonged entirely to my work, consumed by an unrelenting passion.
For those unfamiliar, Aamir Khan has two children, Ira and Junaid, from his first marriage to Reena Dutta. Later, he married Kiran Rao and had a son named Azad Rao Khan. However, it was announced that they divorced in 2021.
