Ryan Reynolds is currently among the most well-known and cherished actors in Tinseltown today. His portrayal of Deadpool has left an indelible mark, and he’s shown himself to be a reliable “husband figure” during Blake Lively’s intense legal proceedings. Balancing his acting career, family life, and part-ownership of the Welsh football club Wrexham leaves little room for leisure, but it seems Reynolds does manage to find some free time. Surprisingly, he spends much of it engrossed in one of Apple TV+’s top original shows, “Mythic Quest.
It could appear unusual that “Free Guy” actor Reynolds, who’s openly stated he’s not a big gamer, would be deeply invested in a TV series centered on a video game studio. However, it’s worth noting that Reynolds shares ownership of the town Wrexham with McElhenney, which may explain his interest. Despite this, Reynolds reassured his 53 million Instagram followers that his affection for the show is unrelated to their friendship. He even stated that his love for the program doesn’t stem from their business partnership.
I’m expressing this opinion not because I admire Rob McElhenney personally, but rather due to my fondness for his show, “Mythic Quest.” This series is among the finest on television today, and it’s only grown stronger since its debut. Here’s to its continued success!
As a fan, I’m delighted to be part of the audience for this hilarious comedy series co-created by Charlie Day, Megan Ganz, and Rob McElhenney. It first graced our screens back in 2020 and is now midway through its fourth season, airing as part of the 2025 TV Schedule. The story revolves around a fictional video game studio, where the main game was created by none other than Ian Grimm (played by McElhenney). We follow the dedicated staff as they work tirelessly on new expansions and projects, often finding themselves at odds with each other along the way.
As a cinephile, here’s my take:
“Step right up, fellow movie lovers! No need to embark on any epic quests to enjoy the delights of Apple TV Plus. Newcomers can dive into this streaming service for an entire week without spending a dime, then it’s just $9.99 per month thereafter. During that free trial, you’ll have access to critically acclaimed originals such as ‘Ted Lasso’, ‘Severance’, and ‘Slow Horses’. So why wait? Click the deal and start your journey now!
In the latest installment on Apple TV+, I had the privilege to work alongside my long-time collaborator and co-star Charlie Day in his debut guest appearance on our show. To celebrate this significant milestone, we, the co-producers, created a side-splitting video where I humorously blunder the name of the show as “Mister Quest” and inquire about the number of episodes he’s watched. This video proved to be so popular that Reynolds decided to share it with his Instagram fans.

With Daybreak finally gracing Mythic Quest, it appears that McEhenney and his crew should focus on obtaining a guest spot from Reynolds. Considering his apparent affection for the series, it seems only right. Moreover, this wouldn’t be an unprecedented move as Reynolds has already starred in a video game-focused narrative, having played the lead character in Shawn Levy’s Free Guy back in 2021.
As we’re down to just two episodes left in Season 4, it seems unlikely that Reynolds will make an appearance this time. However, if the series maintains its impressive Rotten Tomatoes ratings and fans continue to love it, there’s a chance for another season. Fingers crossed for a potential return of everyone’s favorite crush!
On Wednesdays, you can tune in for fresh episodes of “Mythic Quest”, while an active subscription to Apple TV+ allows you to watch all past seasons on demand.
