How to Find & Catch Xu Yo in Monster Hunter Wilds

In Monster Hunter Wilds, endemic life refers to the adorable and diminutive creatures that players may come across. Unlike the more formidable larger creatures, these critters are not threatening; however, they can be quite beneficial for a hunter aiming to gather Guild Points during their exploration.

In the enigmatic Forbidden Lands, Xu Yo represent a scarcely found, indigenous life-form. Given their elusive nature, the Guild has been intrigued and has devoted extensive research efforts towards understanding them. Although they are usually elusive, I’d like to share an approach that players might find useful for locating some of these enigmatic creatures:

1. Look for distinctive landmarks or unusual geographical features: Xu Yo often inhabit areas with unique environments that set them apart from their surroundings. Keep your eyes peeled for anything out of the ordinary, such as towering rock formations, dense forests, or vast open plains.

2. Monitor behavior of other creatures: Xu Yo have a symbiotic relationship with some of the other inhabitants of the Forbidden Lands. By observing and understanding the habits of these creatures, you may be able to track them back to their elusive masters – the Xu Yo!

3. Follow mysterious energy signatures: Some say that Xu Yo emit an aura of energy that is distinct from other life-forms in the Forbidden Lands. If you can learn to recognize and follow these energy signatures, it might lead you to your quarry.

4. Consult local legends or lore: The Forbidden Lands have a rich history, and there may be tales passed down through generations about the Xu Yo. By speaking with locals and researching ancient texts, you may uncover clues that help guide you on your quest.

Where to Find Xu Yo in Monster Hunter Wilds

Xu Yos are occasionally spotted dwelling within the Ruins of Wyveria. They’re diminutive, round-bodied creatures that bear a resemblance to jellyfish, yet their name and the usual places they appear suggest they might be the larvae of Xu Wu monsters in Monster Hunter Wildspire.

Typically, encountering a Xu Yo outdoors is an uncommon occurrence. Not only are they difficult to spot generally, but they seem limited to appearing during certain times and conditions. In Area 12 of Wyveria, small groups of Xu Yo are known to emerge spontaneously within the Xu Wu lair, specifically during the Daytime in either the Season of Plenty or Wyvern’s Tranquility. Much like other native creatures, players can capture a Xu Yo using their capture net.

You have the option to relax within any of your tents as a means to kill time swiftly. Keep in mind that it will cost you 300 Guild Points to carry out this action.

Guaranteed Xu Yo Spawns

If you prefer avoiding the unpredictable Xu Yo encounters, an alternative choice is to engage with or revisit the “Astonishing Adaptability” Optional Quest. To access this, simply converse with Tasheen in Wyveria. During this quest, your task will be to eliminate the Xu Wu in the area and discover what happened to Soushi, a Keeper from Sild.

At Xu Wu’s hideout, you’ll notice some elusive Xu Yo creatures fluttering around. Since they’re tiny and somewhat see-through, they might be tricky to spot initially. You can attempt to enter the lair when Xu Wu is not present or engage in a battle until it retreats and sleeps there. Alternatively, employ your Ghillie Mantle to avoid detection if you can’t wait for Xu Wu to leave.

One instance of Xu Yo yields merely 1 Guild Point, and at present, it doesn’t offer much more. However, potential updates for Monster Hunter Wilds might assign a more particular purpose to these endemic creatures in the future.
