Pokémon TCG Pocket finally tackles trading in new update, but it’s not coming until autumn

  • Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket has announced new changes to trading
  • Trading Tokens are being dumped entirely, replaced with Shinedust
  • Future changes to Shinedust are planned, and more

Initially, the release of Pokémon TCG Pocket was met with much enthusiasm, however, it didn’t take long before the first significant issue surfaced – trading. This highly-anticipated aspect of the game encountered problems due to the scarcity of required currency and strict limitations on what and whom you could trade with. Fortunately, a new update assures us it will address these concerns.

Initially, Trade Tokens are being completely eliminated so there’s no longer a need to swap cards for trading currency. Instead, trading cards of varying rarities – three-diamond, four-diamond, one-star – will now necessitate Shinedust. You’ll earn this Shinedust when you open booster packs and obtain cards that are already listed in your Card Dex.

You can exchange the Trade Tokens you currently possess for shinedust. Additionally, since shinedust is also essential for acquiring flair, additional modifications are being planned. Furthermore, an upcoming update will enable you to share cards you’re interested in trading using the built-in game function.

It appears that the concept of trading within this game was initially implemented with less enthusiasm, as I mentioned earlier. The issue at hand and its resolution stem from the fact that in-game trading necessitates stricter regulations compared to real-life trading due to the unique characteristics of a digital environment. This is crucial to prevent misuse.

To put it another way, even though we’re still in the spring season and Pokémon TCG Pocket has acknowledged these concerns, the rate at which they are addressing them appears to be slower than what many people desire.
