Nadeshot Crashes Out Over Marvel Rivals’ PC Optimization

On another day, yet another individual expresses dissatisfaction over Marvel Rivals‘ poor performance optimization on PC. This time, it is 100 Thieves creator and ex-professional Call of Duty player, Nadeshot, who vocalized his annoyance upon revisiting the game after a week, only to find it running extremely poorly.

And he’s absolutely valid for that. More on that later.

In a recent tweet, he voiced annoyance about Marvel Rivals consistently losing frames and freezing up every 30-45 seconds. Despite attempting various solutions such as reverting his drivers and upgrading his software, he’s yet to find a fix for the issue.

As a gamer, I’ve been grappling with performance issues in Marvel Rivals ever since its launch. Many fellow players have empathized with me, pointing out that the game seems to struggle with AMD CPUs. They believe this might be the main culprit behind my gaming woes.

In the very same conversation, Nadeshot expressed his thoughts that this could be a rare incident. His faith in the game has dwindled due to its current condition, leading him to suspect his PC might have malfunctioned. It’s worth noting that Marvel Rivals has struggled with optimization since it was launched about three months back.

Users from various social media sites like Reddit and X (previously known as Twitter), have shared experiences of significant memory leak problems, leading unexpected system crashes. Even PCs equipped with high-end hardware such as RTX 3070 Supers and Ryzen 5700x have trouble sustaining a steady 60 frames per second on the lowest graphics settings.

Although part of the problem lies with NetEase, it’s important to note that Unreal Engine 5 itself can sometimes struggle with optimization due to its immense power. This issue isn’t unique to Marvel Rivals; games like Black Myth: Wukong, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, and Lost Records: Bloom & Rage are also experiencing performance instability for similar reasons.

Given the current situation, it’s understandable that Nadeshot feels frustrated. It’s high time NetEase improves the optimization of their game, considering its ongoing growth with additional maps and characters. As Season 2 approaches, addressing these problems becomes essential to prevent any more negative feedback.
