It’s exciting to know that a highly-anticipated series, “Virgin River,” will return to Netflix streaming soon, likely towards the end of 2025 as part of their schedule. Actress Alexandra Breckenridge hinted at filming in December, and with two new characters recently cast, there’s speculation that one might be the key to resolving the town’s most tumultuous relationship between Brie and Mike.
Who Are The New Characters For Virgin River Season 7?
Fans of “Virgin River” can anticipate some unexpected twists when Season 7 debuts, as two new, somewhat enigmatic characters will make their appearance. Previous fans of “Riverdale” will be delighted to learn that Cody Kearsley, who played Moose Mason in the show known for its quirky dark teen narrative, is set to return with a recurring role as Clay. Depicted as a rugged individual, Clay has been on a quest to find his younger sister for quite some time. The duo were separated while growing up in the foster care system and he was a teenager at the time of separation.
As a cinema enthusiast, I’ve come to realize that even in close-knit towns like Virgin River, where gossip seems to spread faster than wildfire, it’s not unheard of for secrets to be tucked away (like Mel discovering her biological dad was living there all along). So, there’s a chance we’ve already crossed paths with Clay’s sister. Given the scarcity of young residents in the area, I’d wager that if he manages to locate her in Season 7, she might be a fresh face in town or perhaps hail from one of the neighboring communities.
For our second new character, things are about to get particularly captivating according to me. Actress Sara Canning, known for her role as Jenna Sommers in The Vampire Diaries, will be reoccurring this season and will portray Victoria. She arrives in town under the guise of a state medical board investigator, implying that she will be the one executing the underhanded tactics for the large hospital system aiming to push Doc’s practice out of business.
I Loved A Lot Of Things About Virgin River Season 6, But I Didn’t See This One MVP Character Coming
However, let me share some intriguing details: You see, the character we know as Vic is not just any ordinary individual; she’s a former police officer who transitioned into her current role following an on-duty shooting. Interestingly, she seems to have a history with someone she’d like to reconnect with—perhaps more than just catching up—as she visits Doc’s clinic. Could this unidentified individual be Mike? That’s the question that arises.
Why I Hope Victoria Leads To Mike And Brie Breaking Up
If you’ve finished Season 6, this point should be clear to you. Although Mike and Brie have a professional compatibility when they’ve needed to work together as a detective and lawyer, it’s not ideal for them to be in a relationship. Yes, Mike has harbored feelings for Brie for quite some time, and yes, she may have affection for him and perhaps even care for him, but let’s face it. Her true feelings lie with the reformed rogue Brady.
To clarify, the relationship between Mike and Brie was far from perfect when we last saw them. Did Mike propose to Brie during Mel and Jack’s wedding reception? Indeed, he did. But here’s a twist – shortly after their passionate affair in Virgin River, Brie slept with Brady. And guess what? That revelation occurred just days later! To add more drama, it turns out that Mike proposed to Brie even though he was already aware of her infidelity… Wow, talk about a complicated situation!

It’s evident that Mike has either forgiven her or is willing to try, but their relationship isn’t meant to last. We know that the new season starts just two hours following the Season 6 finale, so it seems likely that Brie will persist in trying to stay with Mike for too long. When he proposed, she was unaware that Lark, Brady’s suspicious girlfriend, had emptied his bank account and fled.
It seems quite plausible that this situation might prompt Brie and possibly even Mike to aid Brady in locating Lark. This action could serve as a revelation for Brie and Brady, demonstrating that their feelings for each other may still be intense, potentially allowing them to rekindle their relationship. As for Mike, there’s hope that he might find happiness with Victoria and eventually move on.
It’s uncertain exactly what twists and turns “Virgin River” might present during its seventh season, but you can be sure it will be entertaining!
