Freakier Friday

Watching as millennials grow up, it can be hard to believe that some of our beloved childhood movies like “Freaky Friday” (now available on Disney+) were first released in theaters over 20 years ago, in 2003. Now, a sequel is on its way, with Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan reprising their roles as Tess and Anna. The initial trailer for “Freakier Friday” even features some witty dialogue from Academy Award-winning actress JLC.

Information about the movie “Freakier Friday” has been scarce up until now, but from what we’ve seen, it appears that the two leading actresses are delighted to be reunited. Their on-screen connection in the trailer is genuinely heartwarming, and for a second time, they get to act like children. The original film is famous for Curtis’ line, “I look like the crypt keeper,” and this time around, when the body swap occurs, she amusingly says something similar.

My face looks like a Birkin bag that’s been left out in the sun to rot!

The trailer initiates with Curtis and Lohan featuring alongside Saturday Night Live veteran Vanessa Bayer, who seems to be a clairvoyant. She intuits that they swapped roles at some point in the past, hinting it may occur again. However, they object, and once more, they sense the recurring vibrations of something otherworldly.

In a new twist, another body swap occurs, this time between Anna’s daughter and her boyfriend’s daughter. This means that Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis will take on youthful roles in the upcoming film, Freakier Friday, hinting at more comedic antics to come from this dynamic duo.

More to come…
